Whoop my top tip of the week to save yourself £££ or $$$. I've been doing ruler quilting using my normal free motion foot, normal ruler, jar lids, different size plates and anything else with a curve and not too high. Who'd have thought it, perfect circles and shapes. :woohoo:

          yes, great tip, Wendy.
I purchased the ruler foot a little while ago - and started using it for the last couple of quilts for straight lines and also some curves. but have been using anything i could for the ruler - feel a bit safer with the ruler foot as i'm very often a lot quicker on the go than i should be - this especially when I use flatter items - but if one is normal-careful when quilting the regular free motion foot is perfectly good.
almost finished my IMQE quilt - just binding and sleeve/label to finish off - as this will be done by hand it's planned for doing at the jazz-dinner-night this thursday. am always sewing when there - hey i get a whole three ours to sew by hand - in tact with good music it goes even better - and as I can listen to the music with my ears while keeping hands and eyes free for sewing i get the best of both worlds. the first time i showed up with a quilt or with my hexies they looked a bit funny - but now many people come to find out what i'm working on if i have somethin new - so yes - my IMQE will be sewn in public - but as i'm the only quilter there that should be no problem.

Lotto, have you seen these before? I bought one recently and it is great for hand sewing, when worn on the left thumb (for a right handed)

Our modern guild is having a sew-in on Saturday. I've never been to one where there are specific things planned for the morning and afternoon. The activities are listed as optional and we can bring our own projects. I'd like to fully participate but rarely have time to work on my own things and I don't want to start another UFO. How weird will I be to just do my own thing?

Plus just getting a cold... hope I'm OK to be out and about! :S

I'm like you I often don't want to make the bags etc., so just let the leader know beforehand so they're not offended. Bet you're not alone.

You better take some vit C so you can go and have fun. What's your new signature going to be.

Hey! You guys! Or... you lounge lizards...

Look what I did! Yup, I finished the mystery BOM from Terrie! I hope she is still hanging with us so she can see this.

I entered this quilt into our local guild show which is next week. It's called "Mardi Gras". The colors reminded me of the party atmosphere of Mardi Gras. I quilted it on my new Bernina 770 and it was fun. I used several different color threads. I think it turned out nice.

One more quilt top off the UFO pile. Yay!

Hope you are all doing well.... geneva

She's stopped using facebook at the moment, she has said she can be contacted by email. I hope all is well with her. I have address but not email. Lotti are you there?

Geneva, this is stunning. Congrats on another fabulous finish. Kudos as well to Terrie for a terrific BOM!
                          Best regards to everyone.

Help! I am trying to find where Ricky made a few comments about the size for our photos for IMQE. Like how many pixels on longest side, and how many MB. I know very little about this stuff. Just enough to enter shows. What did he say, where can I find it. It was something aside from his video.

                            Thanks!

I was looking for it Dawn as it didn't like my 5mg and 5.43 mg so old man reduced them to 4.9 and it worked fine.

Thanks, Wendy. My detail shot is 6.50 so I guess I need to resize it down to 4.9. And then bring my full shot at 4.15 up to 4.9MG. I have no idea what that does to the quality of the pictures! Oh well.
