I've been looking very closely at the thread. There are catches of thread. I'm going to send an email off to the company and see what they suggest. There's a lot left on the spool and when I first started using it there were no visible flaws. So, it would have been pretty hard for quality control to catch it. Thanks for the suggestion, it made me look more closely. I'll let you know what Isacord does.

Lotti, take extra care to get the rest you need.

Heather, I think she'll be very pleased. It looks fantastic.

The response came back very promptly to my thread situation.
Basically, the person that responded, has a website that I can purchase a new spool from, as they never heard of a problem with Isacord thread before. That strikes me as a bit odd. Every company has glitches that happen.
So, my response was: I will unwind with the hope I don't loose too much yardage and if I can get to a 'good' area with no visible flaws in the upcoming spool, I'd proceed with caution.
So, I unwound a small amount, and yes it was a thread winding flaw! Much like a little thread snip that gets caught in the bobbin area on our machines. But, I will be watchful. I'm a bit disappointed that I wasn't encouraged to try this and let them know the results! I will let them see the picture.

All is well that ends well. I'm glad I didn't loose much thread, and I will use the unwound length in a project in the future.

Thanks to everyone that gave a suggestion.

Unfortunately, a lot of manufacturers reps say that when they're called.

Luann, odd that they didn't offer to replace the thread. Glad you get to use most of it.

Lotti, I hope you feel better soon.

Heather, I love your quilt! It is so tropical looking. Glad the quilting worked out so nicely. PS. Don't discount the price. You deserve every penny.

Dawn sent this row, Rocky Mountain Winter. Love the colors.
I can't get the photo to complete on the upload over on the rowing group, so I'm going to try it here.

I have no idea if I got three different pictures and if any of them are going to actually show up on this message! Argh!

This was NOT the row from Dawn! It's a silk fusion piece I'm working on. I tried for uploading this one, the row, and one of some flowers that bloomed today. TQS is having issues, similar to my thread dilemma. I'll try later, or tomorrow.

Sorry Dawn, it is a beautiful row, and I thank you for it.

Thank you, Luann! I am so glad you received it. I'll try to post my picture of it here. Definitely "flavor of me!" If I have success I will also post it on the row forum.

Well, pooh! The one time I forgot to take a picture of a row I made and sent! Guess it was destine to never be seen by anyone but you me!

Thanks, everyone! She did love it, and fingers crossed it fits her bed properly. Won't know that for a couple more weeks, but she did say she'd like something for her master bedroom, too, and once she gets colors figured out, she'll let me know (and once she is back in the US, sometime around July). So that's promising.

I promise I charged her fairly, Geneva. In fact, when she first asked and I broke down my rate for her and estimated what time it would take, she insisted I wasn't paying myself enough and increased the rate. Then when I told her that, as I had quoted a price, if it took longer than I estimated I would honor the estimate, she reprimanded me for that too. When I told her that it had shrunk up in the width, and I would discount if it didn't fit the bed properly, and showed her the photo of the fit, she said it seemed fine and insisted I not discount either (I did feel bad, though, I used a different batting and it shrank more than usual). If she ends up unhappy with the fit, once she gets it all the way to its new home, I will address that then, but she seemed happy and understanding about it. She's really a dream customer....I wish all of you who sew for others could have nothing but customers like her!

Luann, I love your silk fusion piece, even if we didn't get to see the row from Dawn! Beautiful!

I finished a repurposed towel into a stylish head wrap. . .actually, I made two out of one towel.
You can read about it here:

Paint and embroidery was involved. This project was like participating in my own private retreat! Thanks, JoJo!

Happy birthday to me - I've got my new machine :woohoo: , a Brother f420 with knee lift, 140 stitches (although I cannot work out the differences on a couple of them), and 5 fonts which includes Cyrillic and Japanese  it also has the facility to design my own borders  :side: :silly: :woohoo: :woohoo: I feel some nerdery coming on ie making a complete stitch out book, which is completely out of character for me
