      Sharon,
      Those miniatures are fantastic ! ! !
Can you help me with the concept of miniatures. Just to what extent do you need to reduce from the original pattern? 50% would only make a king sized pattern into a lap size? So I know that’s not how it goes. I think I asked this one a year or so ago, but I forget what was discussed.
Have you been a member of AQS for a long time? Is the pattern only available to members?

Thanks for doing our ‘challenge’ post this month. I think we will all enjoy this forum more deeply with sharing a bit more often.

Recently I was told (by a loved one) Just keep your pants on!!! It was about buying some boots that had dragonflies and owls painted on them. Really, I want to be a Hippie and maybe those would do it, right? LOL So, getting the laughing part out of the way,,,,

WHAT WAS I THINKING??? When I agreed, no, actually, I VOLUNTEERED, not even asked directly, just saw that the position needed filling.... Block of the Month Coordinator for 2019 for the Cobblestone Quilt Guild. Last Monday I met with the President. We discussed doing it in a ‘virtual method’. In the past they would cut kits, print out directions, and after signing up and paying in advance, each month you rec’d your block. That’s a lot of work if you have to write directions, or request copyright ok’s. As we chatted, it was decided, we’ll send out a link to a ‘block on the web’, give color suggestions, and encourage the use of one’s own stash of fabric. I’ve gotten this underway and here is January and February blocks. 12” finished is what we are going for. My January is shy by 1/16th of an inch and February got the same amount trimmed. Scant 1/4” isn’t my best friend,, Lots of laughter going on in my sewing room.

        January

        February

I’ll keep you posted as this progresses. If any of you want to follow along, let me know. I can always include the link to the directions if you need them.

Sharon, your quilts are wonderful! Good luck in the shows. You're a winner on this blog...

Thank you all for your kind comments of my quilts. Wendy, I put fusible on the fence fabric, then ironed the freezer paper pattern onto the front and carefully cut out all the fence posts. I used the unused portion of the fence fabric to know where to place the individual fence posts onto the snow fabric. Then I fused the fence posts down and carefully, slowly sewed around the raw edges of each fence post. Sewing the black around the squares in the snow fabric was easy and I didn't think of it until I looked at the fabric over on the left and realized it was meant to be. Sometimes luck works!

Also, thank you for your kind words about my daughter. She is doing quite well. It is unfortunate, but it never was good match. It's best for both of them. She seems happy and is moving forward with where she wants her life to go now. Your prayers are appreciated.

Luann, keeping your pants on while trying on that wonderful pair of boots is probably good advice. I would buy the boots. If they make you happy, that's a sign. :cheer:

I wasn’t in a shoe store, it was an online, middle of the night post to my Facebook page, hoping someone would purchase them as my Christmas gift, lol

And I think I need a coat like this to go with:

Luann, I think you'd be channeling Stevie Nicks in that coat, but I do love the boots!! Of course, I wore combat boots for over 20 years, so they look perfectly normal to me :silly:

The spinner isn’t a mini, I didn’t explain it correctly, sorry.

I usually do not shrink patterns, I use the mini pattern as written. For some strange reason, I like making minis.

The spinner quilt is about 60”x60”.

                    Love the boots, btw.

Actually, don't you think the coat looks like something Rosemary would wear? You two could be international twins. :cheer:

Terri, you are a dynamo! I love that you're getting all the little "Misses" going with stitching; they have a great role model in you.
