Rosemary, no way, I am not that talented. I found "chain mail" type "fabric" at a shop (this was while we lived in Brazil). I have no idea what this "fabric" would normally be for, as it was basically a wide/loose mesh type thing. Looked like chain mail, and they had a gold one and a silver one. I bought a large amount, folded it over, cut a slit/hole for the neck and then put some batting (or flannel? I don't recall now) down the sides and sewed the sides closed, leaving arm holes. Oh, my, it was pathetic, but my boys loved it. They've always been appreciative of my efforts, even when the end result does not look at all like what they imagined, thank goodness!
This is why I prefer quilts....I am terrible at anything in "3-D". At least quilts are flat!
And yes, you posted that lovely skirt before, but it's fun to see again! You are immensely talented!Geneva

Brenda, thank you for the beautiful winter, glittery fabric! It will definitely be used in my row quilt. Maybe the background for my tall, skinny snowman. I pray everything is going well with the clean-up! What a pain! But, you seem to be handling it well! Bravo!
Geneva, love your Broken Sauce quilt! Reminds me Jolly Rancher, because of the colors.
Heather, are you going to the Houston Quilt Show this year? Gotta meet up this time if you do!
Kathy, now that my life is back to normal, I'll get that row made for you! Thanks for being patient!

Thank you, Brenda!
I love the fun and colorful tropical fish fabric you sent and also the beautiful little pineapple cards. I‘ll enjoy using them both!
:P :woohoo: :P
What a wonderful surprise to find these in my mailbox today. Mind you, they might have been in the mailbox for a few days - caught a terrible cold and been home since Monday afternoon hoping to not have this bout of bronchitis turn into another pneumonia.
It‘s been a beautiful autumn week so I‘ve made the most of roasting in the sun as much as possible.
Wrapped up in warm blankets and quilts I had my own version of the daily dose of sun and fresh air as prescribed in the lung clinics so favored by the european aristocracy around the turn of the previous century.
It seems to have helped - feeling much better I ventured out to get fresh fruit and veg and the mail this morning...
now tea and a relaxing rest - yes much better - but not will need another few days
Have a great werkend - get some sun and be safe everyone! B) B) B)

Hello Barb
No, not Lake Zug - that was the lake near my old home - I still see Lake Zug from my office which is also in Baar (in Canton Zug) where I had previously been living.
This summer I moved to Kussnacht (am Rigi) in Canton Schwyz. Only 22 km from my old home, but now on the top floor and no elevator (just stairs with 70 steps) which allows me an amazing view without the exorbitant cost that would normally be the case.
Below a map.
Í‘m the blue dot in Kussnacht (2 S‘s - this is important as there is a Kusnacht in Canton Zurich where all google searches take me when i‘m looking for something).
From my balcony (facing Southeast) I look straight at Mount Rigi (the Queen of Mountains). About half way up - more in the foreground is the first ‚step‘. Located a bit above and to the right of my feet you see an area where there are some free standing trees lined up on the steps crest. That is the Seebodenalp - in a good photo we would be able to see a large white building to the right of the trees, the Seebodenalp Hotel. It‘s about a two hour walk up to there - but there is also a gondola.
The peak of Mount Rigi is the Rigii Kulm - where you can see the big pole. From the Seebodenalp to Rigi Kulm would be another good three Hours to walk. Of course there are options for the cog wheel train or gondola and train combination to go there as well - but then we would have to go up from Weggis, or Vitznau or Goldau.
From my living room windows The second picture - South facing, i can see:
Lake ‚Vierwaldstattersee‘, internationally known as Lake Lucerne.
And lots of hills and mountains:
On the left: the Rigi Rothorn, then the Burgenstock (Audrey Hepburn got married on the Burgenstock),
On a very good day I‘ll see the snowy peaks of the Bernese Mountains (including the Mönch and the Jungfrau)
On the very Right: Mount Pilatus
Yup I‘m very happy here B)
I hope to get you a few good shots with the proper camera soon
Have a great Sunday

Thanks Lotti for the map and description of your view! We had such a wonderful time in Switzerland when we visited 10 years ago, since then I've been interested in all things Swiss! And since the Row exchange I feel more connected to you and what you're doing.

Wendy, just let me know when you‘re in the area and we‘ll arrange it - neither bronchitis nor pneumonia required - actually much better if you forego those or you‘ll find the 70 steps a problem :side: :P :silly:
Thank you Barb, I‘m also enjoying the great people i get to meet through these exchanges, both online and in person.
Here a few panoramas I took this summer
From my balcony
From a hike on Seebodenalp
Mount Pilatus on the left, Lucerne just to the right at its foot, Lake Lucerne, Kussnacht to the right of the Lake, then Lake Zug to the far right.

Hello to all - it's been a while since I post, I have a lot to catch up!
I would like to say that I've received "Picnic at the beach" row from Kathy (around end of July). I love it!
I alsoreceived this lovely fabric from Brenda. Thank you for sending this to me, with all the troubles you are going thru.
