Hi Brenda, good to hear things are ok with you. My row is the third one down in the second picture. It is the curvy stripes of sand after the sea has receded - a bit like your flood really

Geez, Brenda! You have been through a lot. I'm glad to hear that the clean up is getting underway, and that many things are salvageable! What a trooper! The last picture that you posted, the beach scene yardage, is what I sent to you, with a note that said I could make a row for you at a later date, if you wanted me to. I just didn't have the time then.

Sorry to hear your flooded again but relieved you're ok. What a year for you and yours!

My row is the ocean waves at the back of fourth photo.

Currently watching the track of hurricane Maria and thankful its missing us in Grenada. Thinking of all the people not so lucky who are in it's path or feel the effect.

Brenda I received your lovely package yesterday! Thank you! I love the batik, It will look great with my rows. And the notecards a so cute! I'm sorry you've had such a hard row this year. (haha, not a funny pun) I hope you are getting resettled and get some time to sew.

          Take care, geneva

Good to here that the US ones are getting delivered, I was a little worried! Thanks for identifying your rows for me, it means a lot. Someone had sent some charms along with their row and they were swimming along with the rows, but again, no longer identified. Please let me know so I can think of you while I am putting something together.

Got mine, also, Brenda! Thank you so much!! the little stars on sand are more perfect than you know, as we actually did, more than once, see real, live starfish swimming while we lived in Brazil! Perfect!!! And the sweet little notecards are darling -- another "perfect" for me, as that block (Bird's Nest) reminds me of my grandma, who owns an art gallery called the Crow's Nest.

Thank you so much, I am amazed that in the midst of clean-up you took time out to send these. Best wishes as you keep on keepin' on, and may you never flood again!

Brenda: I sent the just-a-strip of sea glass fabric, 3rd from the top of the 4th photo. I wish you strength for your clean-up and recovery, and mild weather to do it in. Hugs,

Brenda, so sorry to hear of your troubles with the flood. I'm glad you are safe. Hope recovery goes smoothly. I sent you the 2nd row in the 2nd picture -the 4 cresting waves.

Wendy I've sent you a message.

Brenda, your parcel arrived safely today. I love the colours in it (so does Izzy - hands off it's mine!). Haven't started putting my bog coat together yet so it will definitely be in the mix. Currently I am procrastinating about making a very frilly cosplay outfit for Izzy - I loath doing gathers and they happen to be Izzy's favourite look, aagggh!

This is what she is after :S

                        Go, Izzy, go!
Am soooo looking forward to the picture of the final outfit!
But, looking at all those gathers, i‘m very glad she is your daughter and not mine

Wow, the overseas packages made it a lot faster than I thought they would! Rosemary, good luck with the gathers. Would it lend itself to the use of a ruffler foot? My house is moving forward. I now have sheet rock, no flooring or kitchen yet, but with the massive amount of work to be done around town I consider myself to be ahead of the game. Thanks to everyone in helping me identify their rows.

Rosemary, you are a nicer mother than I am! I did make my son a ruffled shirt for a school play once. Luckily it was out of muslin and it was donated to the school drama class after the show. But I'm with you, ruffles/gathers are a pain!

But not as big a pain as what you are doing Brenda! My heart goes out to you and your family. I hope you are finding some *fun* in all this mess? I still keep you in my prayers.

I saw a picture of a row quilt someone made and it made me think.... I don't have to line up the rows. I can put them diagonally. That'll be easy! hmy:

I am packing up Sybil and all her pieces and parts. I just finished the last quilt I will make with her. I took a class from Joe Cunningham on Sept 11th and this is what came out of it all. It was lots of fun if not crazy making. My husband looked at several of the editions of moving the squares around before sewing them together and said "It looks like a broken sauce". So, it is named "Broken Sauce". I used a picture of a man hole cover to do the quilting design. It was fun, once I let myself go and get out of my head!

Geneva, that little quilt is lovely! What a fun design and fun name for it! Glad you got a new machine, though, since Sybil has been giving you problems.

Rosemary, I am in awe of your costume making...that you're even considering that? Wow! For laughs sometime I should post the picture of "chain mail tunics" and a king's robe I made my boys once.....oh my goodness, so horrible. Probably I could do better now, but.....eek.

I am finding less and less time to sew these days....my boys' school schedule (and so mom's taxi service + teaching them) is taking a lot more chunks of time this year, with classes & appointments outside of the house 3x/week, for a few hours each time, leaving me fewer "at home" hours to do the "home school" portion of our day, let alone sew things. We're still in "getting the schedule figured out" mode, so hopefully as we get in a groove it will settle.

Currently waiting in the wings/"in progress" I have 2 pair of pillow covers for a customer/friend, finish quilting a quilt for my nephew, finish piecing & then quilt a quilt for my sister, quilt a quilt for me (class project from Houston last year), and my husband keeps asking about his Superhero quilt for our TV room....fabric not even purchased for that one, yet. Not to mention all the other "I'd really like to make...." projects.

Hope everyone else is having more time to enjoy our craft than I am right now

Geneva, that is a really fun quilt.

Heather, did you knit the mail? Knitted string spray painted silver has often featured in the cheaper period films.

I don't remember if I posted Izzy's last skirt I made, it was 3 circles around

A horrendous amount of hemming and the dratted hem went and dropped on me even after being left to hang overnight. Still if she keeps twirling you won't be able to see the uneven hemline.
