Marathon sewing day today on my miniature. Am currently sewing the knife edge finish :woohoo: I have been rusting my needles prodigiously, it seems years since I last had that problem  Guess it just goes to show how little hand sewing I have done recently

Actually this post probably belongs in the virtual retreat thread, sorry folks.

I finally decided on an order for my rows and got the top sewn together! Yay!!!!

I don't know if I ever said, but I am using it as a table runner in my dining room, which is beach themed, for the parts of the year that don't have a holiday table runner. It's a bit wider than my other runners, but not so wide as to be odd, I don't think, and it looks fabulous in there. I also have place mats I"m finishing still (binding only) that will look lovely with this as well. Once I get the runner quilted and bound, and the placemats bound, I'll post a new pic, but for now....here is the top, loosely laid across my table.

The table has 2 more leaves that go in it when we have company to make it longer, so it really is a great length. And I love that not only is it beach themed, but it fits so well with the saying we have on the wall in there -- the best things in life are people we love, places we've been, and memories made along the way. Now I have a permanent, tangible reminder of some of my friends, almost like we're all gathered around the table together. <3

Thank you guys, so much! It's truly lovely, and I couldn't be happier with it. Better photos once I get it quilted, but I needed the top sewn together so I didn't get it mixed up (the order) and can work on a quilt for my sister, who very much needs a "we love you and support you no matter what" kind of hug/quilt just now.

                  thanks, everyone!

I feel like you all did all the work, so *thank you!* All I've done yet is arrange your beauties into a pleasing order. But I will so very much love having it on my dining table once it's done.....so again, thank you!!

Heather, great layout! I am amazed that you already have yours put together!

Kathy, I love all of the rows that the recipients have posted! You've done wonders in a short time!

Here are my last two rows (minus Branda) that I received. The top row is from Rosemary. And the bottom row is from Kathy. Thank you both! Such fun! Snow on my wildlife!

Love it, Heather! I like the idea of a table runner.

                      Beautiful rows, Dawn/Rosemary n Kath.

Such a pretty row Lotti/Kath. Pinwheels is one of my favorite blocks. Those muffins look yummy. Would you please share the recipe, Lotti?

(recipe from Jennifer Pallian (foud on blog foodess.com)

preheat oven to 375 deg F (180 dg C), grease or line a 12-cup muffin tin

2 c flour (is use spelt)
                        3/4 c sugar
                        1 tsp baking soda
                        1 tsp baking powder
                        1/4 tsp salt
mix together in a large bowl

                        1/2 c melted butter
                        1 1/4 c sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract (I use seeds from 1 vanilla pod)
                        1 egg
                        2 tsp lemon zest
1/4 cup lemon juice (I use zest & juice from one lemon)
                        - mix together
                        - stir into dry ingredients until just incorporated

1 c blueberries (i use whatever berries i have and however many i feel like...)
                        - fold in
                        - spoon batter into prepared muffin tin
                        - bake in middle or lower shelf of oven, 18-22 minutes until glden brown & tops spring back when lightly pressed
if you have convection air, don't forget to lower the temperature slightly

if one doesn't forget the egg - they actually hold together
in either case they taste very very good

I just lost my first post, so I will try again. I have mailed rows to Dorothy, Geneva, and Luann. I have Lotti's ready to mail, but was waiting for her new address. I will post it tomorrow. Left on my list are Terrie and Rosemary. I am working on them and should have them finished next week.
Lotti, thanks for the recipe. I have friends visiting this weekend, and will make muffins for Saturday. They will love them.
I have 3 of the grands here today. Love to have them and they help to keep each other from being bored.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
