Oh my goodness you poor soul. I'm glad you knew the signs of heart attack and were able to get help for him and thank goodness for modern medicine. I wish him a good recovery and you the strength to deal with all the flood and damage and still think of holding a retreat. You're made of strong stuff you two!

Annis, my thoughts are with you and your family. Men are stubborn and so glad you knew the signs to get him to the hospital. Take care.

Annis, my heart goes out to you. That sounds overwhelming, yet you sound as if you just won't be overwhelmed, come hell or high water. Hope the second half of the year is better for you and yours, than the first half has been.

I didn't know the signs. His retired dentist is the one that told him what it might be. He thought he was just having muscle spasms from doing dozer work the day before. I was in the city and he was in the country. Our ranch hand brought him into town and his brother got him to the hospital just in time. He was out of surgery before I got to see him. Our country home is a half hour from the nearest hospital which is really just a clinic. If you called 911 they would have sent paramedics which would take awhile then they would have called Care Flite which would take even more time so it could have taken several hours to get him there when you can drive it in an hour.

Annis, I am very sorry to hear about your husband. I do hope he recovers quickly and completely. And the flood on top of everything else must be so awful. May you see those sunshiney days.

                Annis,
Your situation is on my prayer list. And you have been prayed for once already.
May God bless you with strength, peace filled sleep, and a quick recovery for your husband.

Oh my Annis, I'm also sorry to hear about your husband. Sounds like he's bouncing back. We lived rurally years ago and can relate to flooding!

In spite of everything it looks as if someone was looking after you. Sounds as if it could have been so much worse. Take care. I am sending prayers.

Sorry to hear of your DH's trouble, Annis. I'm surely sympathetic...as mine had a similar attack in Feb. We were
fortunate to get help quick enough...Life Flight saved the day' as we are 2 hrs. out. I hope he heals well and you can
keep him resting a bit while recuperating ! And I know that's not easy anytime !! let alone when you have flooding as
you have had !! Sounds as tho you all may be drying out for a while now.....wishing you the best !

Thanks, everyone. I've learned to keep things in perspective. People died or lost all of their belongings in the recent flooding. And many people who receive CPR do not live to tell about the pain which according to my DH is worse than having broken ribs. He's getting up and down better now without my help. We had sunshine all day today and I got a good start on getting ready for the retreat.
