    New format for viewing shows

I know that everybodys computer setup and internet connection is different. My computer is several years old and not anywhere near the top end of what is available today. But.......

I have just watched the latest show on the larger screen and I'm in heaven!! My middle-aged eyes say 'Thank you very much TQS!'

The picture quality was astonishingly clear.

So, Guys, what's next?? 3-D shows??? Ricky as a hologram in my livingroom??

Hi Lorchen, I'm glad to hear you had a good experience. I tried today, too, but had to give up. Picture was nice and clear, but jerky, and the audio and the video didn't remotely match up. Sigh. I tried clicking "slower Internet" but that didn't make any difference. I didn't have enough time today to try to figure out what the problem is. I'll try again over the weekend. Or, maybe I'll just try my husband's computer (his is new, mine is 4 years old) when he's away from it ;-) If that works, just one more reason I need a new computer this year! Robin

I saw it this afternoon and it is great. My mom who has macular degeneration has gotten hooked on the shows. This is going to be so much easier for her and we won't have to be elbowing each other out of the way to see.
Lorchen, you are a hoot. Would love to meet and chat. Gloria

I had the problems as rgold...so jerky it is not watchable and I have a brand new PC with a quad processor and 4 gig of memory. I don't think it's the PC...I think it is my internet provider, hughesnet. They claim to be high speed, but are not much better than dial-up. They can get away with that because us rural folks have no other option. I never had any problems with the previous system.

I had to give up when they all started sounding like Alvin and the Chipmunks. Maybe next time it will be better.

I just put my problems down in the other thread. It was horrible viewing and I felt quite queasy at times. And my computer is only 2 weeks old too.

I too was very lucky, thanks ricky and alex, I was worried because my lap top is not new. But I do alot of viewing of movies and my computer must up to speed (haha) for these features. The bigger format was awsome, and being able to jump where I wanted to was great!!!!!!!!!!
Also having an icon 8) like linda taylor, was really awsome!!! Being a longarmer myself, I also own a gammill. When she plays it is wonderful...
I just have to remember one thing!!!!!
 WHERE THERE IS FEAR, THERE IS NO CREATIVITY!!!!

I even went to full screen and it looked good. I like being able to see the details.

We are working on the bad experience of the slower internet speeds. Our new player people are testing and we are looking at keeping our old system if we have to. We are committed to making sure that this is not a step down for anyone. I'm not only concerned with the shows, but with the classrooms like Patsy Thompson. Did the people who had problems with the show also have problems with Patsy's first video?

Thanks, Capt'n John, I appreciate your efforts! Yes, Patsy's video was jerky for me, too, but not as bad as the show. Like some of the others, though, I'm not at all sure that the problem is on your end. I think a large part of it may be my Internet provider, but I have to test a few things first to figure that out, and I probably won't have time for a couple of days. For example, sometimes when I have problems with the shows being jerky, if I close my Internet browser and open it again, it's better (like it's clearing out the cache or something). Also, trying at different times of day sometimes makes a difference. I also want to try on my husband's newer (faster) computer (we're both on Macs, though). I'll let you know when I do get a chance to check things. Best, Robin

I've just watched the new show with the new player and it was wonderful in both the small and big screens. Thanks so much for the new player. Sandi in FL

Ok, I am one of the lucky ones, I did not experience any problems and it was great. Thanks TQS for another step forward, Pat

My computer is several years old, and the show was just fine with DSL. I'm so glad I needed a new monitor awhile back, because it made the picture even better. When I first signed up for TQS, we had Hughes satellite and I'd have to get up in the wee hours of the morning to get even a half-way decent speed to watch the shows, and even then it came through jerky. Needless to say I was thrilled when we got DSL out our way, which is a rural area. Fi in No. CA
