I too joined before the tapings began, faith is a huge mammoth, it moves us in ways that are difficult to describe, but none the less, it moved me to the TQS I love it as well, the abilaty to talk to friends from around the world, discuss quilting, learn new ideas, meet new artists, see new techniques, Wow, all while I am sitting in my pj's in MY kitchen, at 5 a.m. Snow storms, Rain storms do not keep me from joining friends at the tqs site. Commercials are every where, but where else can you fast forward.
Alex and Ricky, you are the greatest, keep up the good work, one or two unhappies in agroup of over 50,000, you must be doing something great.
      THANKS FROM ME, Debbie

Definately! Silence & delete anyone who has a dissenting point of view! Anyone who does not totally agree with the herd is quite obviously a "troll" and must be banned for life!

I guess I don't look at and don't personally care much about the figures....except for the fact that I certainly hope ARJJ and all involved are being rewarded with great things. TQS has enhanced my life since DAY 1, and in these three years, I have experienced highs and lows in life, and all along the way I have had an army of supporters just from this site alone.

I do not label anyone a Troll who has negative or differing opinions, but the people that have chimed in with positive comments on this particular forum are ones who have grasped and experienced all this site has to offer, and when that happens, there is no room to question the small things. I will be here for always.....and very thankful for every moment of it!

hmmm, I feel sorry for you Miles. We are a good group, and I wonder if you are so grumpy about TQS why you stay? But one good thing about this site is that we do not have to receive any threads we don't wish to read! So I am taking "disappointed" off my radar.

I will not bite nor go into a long diatribe about my disposition as you have chosen to internalize it.
I will say that a "group" of people is made up of many varying points of view. Mine may not jive with yours (or anyones) but that doesn't invalidate my perspective. If this is a site of 100% solidarity in opinion then it should say so from the beginning (which it does not).
Why do I stay? Because I am a damned good quilter- that is why. Feel free to pass on by or ignore anything I have to post- I am not here to impress you or anyone with my attitude, just my work.

Miles, everybody can voice their opinion here (as far as I know). It's important to do it in a respectful way.

It's often easier to have a heated discussion in person because you can see the reaction of the other people involved immediately and explain, if you have been misunderstood, for example. Here, any possible damage is done the moment you post a message. We all need to be aware of that.

And it's also important to remember that this is a global community. Different countries and cultures have different ideas of what is acceptable and what isn't.

It's not a pleasant experience to be on the receiving end when no harm was meant, and a comment gets misinterpreted (been there, done that, and carry the scars).

Oh dear! I'm going to have a peppermint schnapps (and definitely a DuBouchett, not a DeKuyper).

I just thought, what a shame - if someone wants to know what good things there are about TQS, they're not going to go to a thread called "Disappointed". Maybe it should be renamed.

I thought nothing about censorship or excommunication... Silly me.

And although Lorchen's 'parts' sound more interesting (and more appropriate for proper conversation  ) than mine, I am very comfortable knowing that All Are Welcome here. Today. Every Day!

This has probably gone on long enough. Most of us who post on the forum are very pro TQS. I hope we aren't perceived as unaccepting of other opinions but when I do read something negative I feel a need to point out why I feel differently. Which is my right too. Gloria

I had to look up the word 'diatribe' (I'm not English) and was astonished of the result : 'a forceful and bitter verbal attack against someone..'
I totally agree with Lorchen ... threads on the internet can be shocking and though I sometimes don't agree with someone, I let be and don't respond.
Maybe we should all think twice before we push that 'submit' button?

Ladies, You asked about the binding shows.

Alex, I found show #307 Paula Nadelstern where Ricky demonstrates his mitered border technique.

In the same series, #310 with Luxin Newman Ricky demonstrates his binding technique with the special ruler. I ordered the ruler & it really works well!

Hope one of these 2 shows are what the folks were looking for.
