sometimes those $350 (and up!) chairs can be found el-cheapo on Ebay, or corporate going-out-of business sales. Look for Steelcase or Haworth brand, there are others but these are 2 I know are excellent quality. It really is amazing the difference a good chair can make (I know from work, but use a much cheaper computer chair for sewing)

The only thing I don't like about my chair is it is NOT armless. That gets in the way when I am working with my machine in the flatbed table I have because the arms hit on the support underneath if I do not have the chair in the lowest position. However when I am peicing I usually keep the machine on an old kitchen table because it sits higher and gives me better visiblity and the office chair works great there.

I have a chair that came with my Koala sewing table and cutting table. ( Thanks to my dear husband). I don't know how much the chair cost is was a package deal, but it is very comfortable.

Florence, you are so right! I got my sewing chair about 20 years ago when the law office I worked for was moving and buying all new office furniture. I think I paid $15. It's orange! but who cares. It's still in great shape and has never caused me any trouble. Adjustable, swivle, wheels, no arms, etc. NA

Now that you've had some time to use them, how do you like the Babylock Quest? I have the Ellure and Ellegante and am extremely pleased with their performance of both; and I really work them.

Hi, I just bought the Quest and so far I love the walking foot feature. I haven't had time to try stippling but it sure seemed good at the store. I have had a Espire for 10 years and loved it. I had to take it in for repair on the feed dogs and couldn't resist the Quest when they wanted to demo it. I could have gone for the trade in but didn't want to give up my Espire to take to classes. They called shortly after we left the store and offered the trade in price for the Quest without the trade in as long as I had the Espire fixed there. Hope it was a good deal.
