My daughter blessed us with a beautiful granddaughter today. Adele Catherine weighed 6 lb. 8 oz. Mother and baby are doing fine and will be leaving the hospital tomorrow. That means I will be able to go to Des Moines. Yeah!!! I will be there Wednesday and Thursday so hope to see some of you then.

Congrats on the new grandchild Cathy - long life and happiness to her.

I won't be going to Des Moine - too far from Ireland all we have is the Knitting and Stitching Show at the RDS in Dublin in November. But you all go off to Des Moine and Houston, don't worry about me... I'll be fine

Rita, we will miss you so much--but then we don't get to go to the Knitting and Stitching show.

Well Ritzy it's not much but it's all we've got here. I will have to save my pin money and try to make it to one of the big shows in the US next year... or the year after, depending on how many pins I can sell

Rita, don't forget you have the International Quilt Festival of Ireland coming up next June http://www.iqfoi.com/
Ricky is going to be there and Jinny Beyer, and quite a few other very worth taking classes from teachers...
I've put in for vacation and am very much planning on attend. Unfortunately our exhibition plan hasn't been finalized yet for next spring and i can't book 'till i know when i'll have to be where for work or organize something - grrrr
would love to meet you there

Ste. Marie was fabulous as always.
saw some great great great quilts by Sue Benner, Katie Pasquini Masopust, Libby Lehman and Edyta Sitar. Sue, Katie and Edyta all taught courses - but i got to meet and chat with Katie for a few minutes when i was marvelling at hers, Sue's and Libby Lehman's quilts. Edyta's quilts were in a different location and oh so fab. Libby will be having an exhibition of her quilts (and i hope will be teaching courses) next september - i just have to take a few days off and book rooms to be able to join that. Sue and Katie both are having 4-day master-classes this week - but alas - it's awfully difficult for me to take more time off this time of the year... hopefully next year.
and there were many many many more wonderful artist - took loads of pictures - still "downsizing" them - then have to select a few to post - unfortunately i don't have the names that go with all of them - but will do my best - hope to have a blog post with some pictures by the weekend - but don't hold your breath

Thanks for all the congratulations. Adele was my mother's middle name, and Catherine is both mine and my SIL's mother's name. Works out good that way. Everyone's happy! My mother died when I was 13, so that really made me happy. I didn't realize there was a singer, Adele, until after the baby was named. I guess it will be a more popular name now. I like the old names best. Now, I need to remember what motel my reservations is at. ops: I will be making some phone calls "to confirm?".
