For colours - yes Now if you were to use a pale background and pastel shades we would never recognise it as yours

I've been wondering about Nancy's (rehak) safety. Her town is just a little north and west of Boulder further into the mountains. Hope she is safe.

        Hi Lois -

Luckily, I'm above all of the devastation since I live at the top of the mountain. My power just now came back after 2 days off and I'm still waiting for my phone to come back, but those are minor inconveniences compared to what other people are dealing with. I'm looking forward to watching the news tonight to try to see what's going on now. It sounded like Jamestown, which is just below me and on my drive to Boulder, was pretty hard hit. I won't be leaving the house for another couple of days since I don't know how long it will take to fix the roads and it sounded like every road I would be able to take down was washed out. Guys have been working on the roads in my neighborhood all day today and even kindle fixed the end of my driveway so I didn't have to do that myself.

        Thanks for thinking of me!

        Nancy

Today is the day for me to get caught up with my posting mug rugs. My only excuse was quilting deadlines and not being very good at staying organized. The late notice is by no means indicative of a lack of appreciation on my part. I love all my little quilts. I forgot to take pictures of the backs.

This cheerful beauty came from Robyn in Australial I love it. I was accompanyied with very special Austrailian tea which I am saving for a very cool Fall day.

Patty Kaplan from Wisconsin made these cute birds. I love the border and I want to try it myself.

Yes, I have even more Mug Rugs to post. Terrie made me these very cute little log cabin blocks and put them in a mug rug. I am partial to pink and green.

Nancy sent me a very beautiful Marineer's Compass. I love it. The piecing is spectacular and I love, love, love the colors. The quilting is not bad either.

And there are still more. Lorchen put the green of Sherwood Forest into a little quilt for me. The needlework pocket is over the top. It came fill with packets of mix for chocolate drink but you will notice they are no longer there. Thank you, Lorchen, I am working on yours now. I found inspiration for your mug rug in my flower garden. I haven't forgotten you.

This next quilt was made by Rosemary. She knew I so much wanted to buy a little quilt she made for AAQI. I had my eye on it and was hoping to buy it in Houston last year. But then Sandy came and all flights out of the NorthEast were canceled and I never did get to Houston. Some other lucky person got her beautiful little quilt. However, she had photographed it. She printed the photo on fabric and quilted it just for me. I love it! Thanks, Rosemary.

Just like the others of you who recieved mug rugs from Rosemary, i recieved a loung lizard. While I was photographing all these mug rugs this morning I turned him loose in my vegetable garden. If you look closely I think you'll notice that he's been enjoying my Swiss Chard. I think he looks quite happy. He ate a rather big hole in that leaf.

Now that I have posted these in the Forum I've got to get them in Show N Tell. I also want you to know that I have begun working on Mug Rugs I have promised. Lorchen, Norma, & Charae I haven't forgotten you.

Lois, all your mug rugs looks beautiful. So glad you managed to post them in the Show and Tell area.

I have another one to share. This one arrived while I was away during the week. It is so beautiful with the centre rose done in hand dyded fabric, everything has been stitched very carefully around the edges with great precision, the fuchsia are beautiful with their little french knots, the quilting is fabulous and the binding, which is also a hand dyed fabric....well Wendy, I would really like to know how you did that? And if you didn't know already Wendy, I love Fuchsia and wild roses. Thank you so much for such a beautiful mug rug, I will treasure it.
