Thanks for the compliments. A very long time ago Nancy was lamenting that all the mug rugs were too nice to use. I promised to make her one that was just asking to be used. And, yes, it is clothes line wrapped with 3/4" strips of quilt fabric. I use school glue sticks to hold the fabric in place. If you are trying to make a circle, use straight pins pushed through the base just to get started. The pins will look like the spokes of a wheel. Use a very wide rather long zigzag stitch. If you want to make a bowl, after you have completed a base begin holding the flat base at an angle to form the sides. It is very much fun and rather addicting. Still working to make a deadline getting a quilt done for a show by tomorrow. Otherwise, I could do a more complete tutorial for Terrie. And Nancy, I remembered you cheering for a BB team during March Maddness and I thought the colors were Orange and Blue. Didn't know you were a Bronco's fan. Didn't you make an orange a blue BB quilt?

            Hi Lois -

You were close. The basketball colors are red and blue (University of Kansas Jayhawks). But I'm also a big Broncos fan and football season is just starting, so perfect!!

Those are fun, aren't they Lois. Very creative mug rug for sure.

And, yeah, football season is near so I can get some embroidery and knitting done while sitting with my husband and enjoying the games.

Look what flew in with today's mail...a mountain bluebird from Marilyn! Gorgeous blanket-stitch applique, adorable baby blue rick-rack, and the the most perfect little french knots I've ever seen! Once again, no beverage will come near this little gem!

And, no surprise, the multi-talented Marilyn even drew her own note card! What a woman!

Just read this post on the CQS ( Canadian Quilter's Society):

Asking a quilter to mend it like asking Picasso to paint your garage.

My mail isn't here yet today, Marilyn. I'm looking out my window for mailman's arrival... he won't be able to deliver without my knowledge!
