Everyone’s mug rug is fantastic. At first I thought the "quilted " card was actually real - gasp! gasp! gash! what a perfect miniature then realised that it actually was a card, card
I just love seeing all the precious mug rug's as it shows what talent you all have. I am afraid I will be a little while yet as life (LLQS 2013, my Indigo exhibition, and my quilting group (guild) has their AGM soon and I am the secretary) has got in the way

Connie, those are beautiful mug rugs. Robyn and Lisa congratulations on receiving such lovely gifts. Both the Dresden plate and the sunflower are beautiful and I love the way you have set them. Beautiful work.
Lois that's a fabulous flower you have sent to Limbania. Love your quilting on the flower and the FM cross-hatching, so attractive.
Glad you like yours Susan. It is the lesser-spotted Irish humming-bird! (Oh no wait, that's me! The bird and the flowers were line drawings on an Ikea fabric which I cut out and coloured in with my Pitt pens. I fused them with Bondaweb (which I hate) and then stitched them with a monopoly smoke thread. I made the stitch length about 1.5 and the width about 2.0 on my Janome. The echo quilting was done with a Superior Rainbows thread.

All these mug rugs are stunnning - it is getting me worried whether I can keep up the standard  I have started starching some fabrics, but that is as far as I have got.
Things are advancing for my thimble class (Saturday week) and I now have an elegant box to store my thimbles in, which makes me happy. I just need to start filling it up and labelling the ones I have made so far.

Yes Maureen, Wendy, Rita and Rosemary... it IS wonderful to see the photos everyone is posting!
I feel so lucky to have gotten several people to swap with, and can't wait to start! I too, worry that I will not be able to hold up the standard of excellence we've been seeing... but I'll sure try! I am a bit of a perfectionist, so I'm hoping that will push me to improve my FMQ skills a lot! (In other words, from "nada" to "decent" would be my goal)
On the plus side, since getting Connie's early mug rug, I have been motivated to privately contact the members who are swapping with me, but have not yet traded shipping addresses. I have also been trying to catch up with the 29 pages of this forum that have miraculously appeared since I last "lurked" And finally, I just created a list of my first 20 ideas for Mug Rug subjects or motifs! Of course, for those who have given me their "likes" I will be taking that into consideration!
For now, signing off... it's almost 2am here, I'm still almost too jazzed to sleep!

Just went to the mailbox and I have been smiling since. This little beauty came from Lois. How perfect is that? Lois, thank you so much, I absolutely love it.
Front - great quilting design for a hexie quilt Lois, I might just have to steal it.
Back - look at the way she faced it, isn't that just great! And the quilting is as good on the back as the front.

Rosemary I love your little box. What a great idea to hold all you thimbles, you will know exactly where they are. I must have a black hole in my house, as when I tidy up and put something away safe, it is gone – I can’t find it
I suppose it was an awful hardship to eat all those choc-ices, poor you

Oh, all those wonderful mug rugs. Like you, Rosemary, I have been wondering if I could live up to the standards shown here, but then I think I just have to go my way.The idea is marinating. And still this is supposed to be fun, not stressing.
Rosemary what a sweet little box, you have made. The thimbles are really having a good place to rest in that.

Hey Lisa, at least there is plenty of reading matter for you to do whilst you are hors-de-combat for sewing (you could also read Wot Rott or parts 1,2 & 3 of the Sottts, if you get really bored  )
Rita, I've had a matching smile to yours this morning, thank you so much. Buttonholing around those shamrocks looks fiddle-y (I can't believe I just said that  ). The card is a great crazy log cabin design too

OMG, they just keep getting better and better! Connie, that sunflower is beautiful! And Lois, WOW! I'm also getting a bit nervous for when my turn comes up, but I will do my best and know that my friends are getting a part of me!
Rita's latest creation just came in while typing this. I'm blown away yet again!

I don't even know where to start! Lois, what beautiful flowers for LImbania and hexie rug for Rita.
Rosemary's mug rug from Rita--perfect pinks and so lovely... doesn't Rosemary adore pink? I seem to remember... Rosemary, your box is so great. It reminds me of when I lived in Japan and covered boxes like yours in washi. It's fun, easy and quick and you get so much enjoyment out of looking at a pretty box!
Rita, so that's how you made the hummingbird... I kept staring at it and could not figure out how it was done. Great job!
