My mother did it exactly the same way, paper and all. Only difference was that they were blackbirds. Same names Pater and Paul. Small world! Somewhow it feels so special that the world is that small and that we've had some very similar sweet childhood experiences.

Rita, when you first posted your picture, I was looking at it to see if your DH was on it. I think he's such a nice guy, but found two other nice guys instead. Now it's sorted out for the curious mind. We await THE STORY with more or less patience but we also know a person that can keep her mouth shut when she is not allowed to tell anything

          Okay here's the story......

It begins last February on St. Patrick's Day actually. That's the day we Irish traditionally plant our potatoes. I was in the garden turning the soil to set it in drills for the spuds when my shovel hit something hard in the ground. I eventually worked it out of the soil and it turned out to be a small black cooking pot. I went to the outside tap and cleaned it off to see if it would still be usable for a potted plant or something. I was drying the pot and day dreaming about my quilting (as usual  ) and wishing that I could meet Ricky Tims again some day when I had the heart put crossways in me as, with a puff of smoke, a little leprechaun appeared on the ground in front of me.
"Who has called Tricky Rims from his slumber?" he growled!
"Eh....sorry about this Mr..... Rims! but I think there has been a mistake. I was just cleaning this little crock I found in the potato patch."
"Ah me crock, me crock, what have ye done to me crock?" he exclaimed!
"I haven't done anything to your crock sir, I was just cleaning it and daydreaming about meeting Ricky Tims."
"Make fun of me dyslexia would you," he snapped angrily, "how did ye get a hold of me crock, ye scallywag, give it back here now." .......

Seriously though, Ricky is in Ireland on holiday and we met up for a chat and some tunes while he was in my neck of the woods. We took them for a walk in Powerscourt and that is where my DH too the photo.

Thinkin' there just might be more to the story. Just sayin'

I'm rubbing a pot and dreamin' too. And I'm wishing I had some Irish/American music playing in the background as I do my quilting. 8) 8) 8) I think I'll just keep rubbing this pot.

And now for something extra special...
When I came home from the doctor today I found a big white envelope in my mailbox...
                                Guess from whom?
Duuuuh, would it be posted here if it was the winning 'badly packed' stuff from Alex?
Noooooo, I am now the oh so happy owner of a fabulous Connie-0riginal-MugRug!!!
                                :P
                                Yup, here is....
The beautiful fabulous, oh so beautifully sewn back

                                And.... Drumroll please.............

                                Isn't it wonderful?
Can't wait to tale it to the office tomorrow and show it off to everyone!!!
Will it be a MugRug for actual mugs? Certainly of Connie ever calls! Until then? Maybe well start with a nice spot on the office wall first!
Since I moved into my new office only about a year ago, there are still some empty closet doors... Think we'll have one dedicated to mug rugs and other Quilty things...

And, Oh, yeah the doctor... After the night from hell, I decided it was time to call the doctor and ask his opinion... Loads of pain and cramps all night, no amount of painkillers would do the trick, well I stopped short of OD'ing on them... I ended up sleeping for exactly one hour, from six am until seven am... Way too little even for me. Doctor said that I absolutely need to drop in... And I did, after hurting me a little more, he decided that I have an infected knee, wasn't sure if the tendons or what, but definitely needed immediate treatment. Got blood tested. My nice do for who usually does acupuncture, all kinds of alternative meds and treatments decided that we need to roll out the heavy stuff... So I now have to do a short treatment of cortisone... Hate the stuff, but he convinced me, and as I get to take tablets, for only three days, they should hopefully help and then get washed out, apparently the cortisone shots take a good two weeks to be worked out by the system, the tablets should be out much faster. And as I'll be hopping on that nice short 14 hour flight to Shenzhen on Sunday, this is no time for dilly dallying... After last night, I don't really care what I have to take to make it better, by four am I would have happily chopped off my whole leg if that had been an option!
So very early night tonight (in fact I've been in bed for e past half hour...), and hopefully back to work and actually be useful tomorrow!
