The nearest thing that I have found in USA to the kind of tea that most English people drink, i'll make allowances for Lorchen's german teas ;-) is English Breakfast tea. However it is impossible to get a good cup of tea in American hotels as they only seem to supply hot water which may have sat in a 'hot pot' for several hours. Tea, either in a teapot or a teabag in a mug, has to be made with BOILING water to enable it to brew properly for at least five minutes. Most of us then drink it with a little milk and possibly sugar. Now that's a proper cup of tea :-)

Hmmm--I fall short in my tea taste. I usually only put a bit of sugar or honey in my tea (whatever kind I may be drinking). Guess I need to try it with milk.

to Pam: 'Hear! Hear!" "Three cheers for HOT tea"
...a funny story. A Scottish lady and I were traveling in Georgia, USA. She ordered tea in a restaurant. She got 'iced tea". I have never seen such an indignant look on anyone's face! Then she proceeded to instruct the girl in her broad Scottish accent on how to make a 'proper' cup of tea - the Scottish way (of course, you have to heat the pot).

Gotta go and make a mug rug...

Vicki, have fun at the beach. I am leaving next week for northern Minnesota. We will be staying in a cabin, canoeing, fishing, and hopefully swimming if the weather warms up. I am really looking forward to the trip. I will be taking lots of pictures to get quilting ideas. I have wanted to do a quilt from a photo for a long time, so this is a great opportunity.

You absolutely can! There is no ending date on this exchange. Send me your address and I will put you on my list. But be aware I have others on the list, I will do first, so it can take some time before I get to yours.

Robyn, I love your Mug Rug from Jane.

Hey Toni, I will exchange with you too if you want to! Please send me an email with your address. I need email addresses for Charae and Terrie and Jane (I think?) I have Wendy, Robyn and Ritzy.

I love all the mug rugs I have seen in the past few posts. I am in an internet wilderness here in Kerry so I can't always receive or send. But I am enjoying what I am getting to see.
