My sister, Daniela, made it--she liked it a lot but her DH did not so someone who would LOVE IT took it away from them! Actually, he was happy I took it off their hands and my sister was happy that I would enjoy it.

And they'd both go roosting with my happy chick!

I'm loving all the chooks! Wish I had one to share with y'all, but not sure how a chook would fare with the kitties!

Wendy, that is adorable, and so glad that you had fun dyeing too.

Rita, you spelling of chuck reminded me of a tongue twister I learn't many years ago

How much wood would a wood chuck chuck,
if a wood chuck could chuck wood.
A wood chuck would chuck as much wood as a wood chuck could chuck,
if a wood chuck could chuck wood.
                      (repeat at speed!)

oh my that was harder to type than to say

Wendy your little chook quilt is gorgeous; it shows up your dyed fabric really well. I also love the beading. 8) 8) Chickens must be a well-loved international bird as I have lots of friends who keep chickens and have lots of items relating to chickens. Mind you not as lovely as the one Renata has, that big bird is brilliant

Rosemary, I remember that tongue twister from long ago.

By 'eck, it is getting musty in here - anybody going to help me open the windows and let some fresh air in?

                            This is Black March.

                            I have a friend
                            At the end
                            Of the world.
                            His name is a breath

                            Of fresh air.
                            He is dressed in
                            Grey chiffon. At least
                            I think it is chiffon.
                            It has a
                            Peculiar look, like smoke.

                            It wraps him round
                            It blows out of place
                            It conceals him
I have not seen his face.

But I have seen his eyes, they are
                            As pretty and bright
                            As raindrops on black twigs
In March, and heard him say:

                            I am a breath
Of fresh air for you, a change
                            By and by.

                            Black March I call him
                            Because of his eyes
                            Being like March raindrops
                            On black twigs.

(Such a pretty time when the sky
Behind black twigs can be seen
                            Stretched out in one
                            Uninterrupted
Cambridge blue as cold as snow.)

                            But this friend
Whatever new names I give him
Is an old friend. He says:

                            Whatever names you give me
                            I am
                            A breath of fresh air,
                            A change for you.

Nice poem Wendy. I like Stevie Smith's poetry.

I had this plan to do my idea for Lotti's photo. I wanted to paint the images using Velda Newman's method (show 902 I think?). But then I got side-tracked with something else. Maybe tomorrow I will give it a try.

Rosemary, Thanks for giving us a stir. And Wendy, I don't know Stevie Smith but I like his poem. I been busy with quilting stuff and am nearly ready to post a blog but I need to add a few pictures that have not yet been taken. I spent 5 days in Florida last week with my husband and came home and had some significant dental work done. They loaded me up with Valium for a day so I was a bit loopy and ended up sleeping it off. That stuff cuts into creativity and productivity. I am curious about how Maureen is proceding. How's it going Maureen?
