Marilyn, your quilt is gorgeous! Great job! I too want to make almost every pattern that people post up. I hope the SIS book will have patterns available. Or maybe we're just going to be able to 'see it!

Marilyn, I love your star quilt layout.

My strips are all sorted in groups of 6 and ready to sew. I'm going to resist the temptation to sew these quickly as I have other things I'm supposed to be doing, but since I'm my own boss I can choose what I do each day. If I sew 1 or 2 strips sets a day they should be finished by the end of the month. Then it's just a matter of deciding which ones are the lights and which ones are the darks, cut them into triangles, decide on a layout and assemble the quilt. I wish it was that easy!

I'm impressed, Annis! Sometimes just getting organized and setting up a game plan is the hardest part!

Marilyn--love the layout of your HSTs.

Annis--your organization is why you get so much done--can't wait to see what you have when it is all finished.

My quilt/wall hanging top is finished. The photo has been taken. Margo so very kindly tweeked and cropped it for me. It has been sent to Carol and I've posted it in Show and Tell. Now it is patiently waiting to be quilted so that it can hang in my new studio when I move there. It would be great fun if that could be the first project quilted in the new studio. "My Quilt Show Friends: Tree of Life" made from all the patches made by you will hang in my studio holding all your spirits. It will nurture my creativity and remind me to keep working. Thanks to everyone who made this exchange possible. Lois

I don't know what I did that made my wall hanging appear twice. When I went back to edit it and remove one picture I couldn't figure out how to erase it without erasing both. I decided to leave well enough alone. I did not make 2 wall hangings. Technology!?!?!?!? Lois

Okay, I was a page behind! Now I see that Annis is still moving forward, in all directions! And, ditto what quilting00 said, Annis! And, Loise, I really do like the addition of applique to these HSTs. It is a very lovely quilt!

I'm thinking, at this point in my life (see Prayer List Forum) the making of my HST quilt will have a lot more meaning than when I first started trading HSTs. There are some kindred spirits out there who are uplifting me, praying for me, calling me, and sending "tangible prayers." So, I now know that my HST quilt will be filled with the love of all of these kindred spirits. I will be able to wrap myself up in the love of my support group. I have always said I am not very "deep" and would probably never make a quilt to commemorate a not-so-happy-occasion, but I think the time has come, and the need it now. The making of this quilt (when I finally get to it ) will sustain me through the trying times ahead.

dawn, do what you can, when you can and take strenght from the "work" - yes, i truly believe there is love, strenght, support, hope, preyers, and many many hugs in each and every one of these quilts.

annis, marilyn, and lois: wow - looking great

been out of it for a couple of weeks - first congress in paris and lots to do - then came home sick as a dog on wednesday just coming up for air - internet about as much exercise as i can tackle... hopefully i'll manage some sewing tomorrow or sunday - can't wait to get back to those strips :?

Lois what a great back story for a great quilt. I love what you did with this top. Now looking forward to the day you can share a picture of it hanging in your new studio.
