Rosemary - Did you copy onto fabric all of our names from the papers, and make new neutral/neutral HSTs for your design? That is way too cool! A true signiture freindship quilt! Very, very nice!

Yes I did, some were easier than others (mine covered the largest space and had to be cropped ops: ) After printing and leaving for an hour or so to dry, I then starched them before cutting them out as I had to cut the diagonal line and I reckoned that that way I could reduce the stretch problems - it worked a treat. Papers were not removed until right before they were stitched, to avoid mix ups.

I am planning a different pattern for the rest of the Hsts but the Sottts names will be incorporated into some Flying Geese borders.

Wow, Rosemary! I'm going a different route, I'll be quilting first names and last initials into the quilt. Debbie very kindly supplied me with the Excel file of names and locations, so after a little bit of sorting, excel magic, over to Word, and then back to Excel, I have a file
with names in order by location, with the number of names I can fit on a line. My quilt will have 52 quilting lines, with one reserved for Sisterhood of the Traveling Triangles, The Quilt Show, April 2011. If anyone wants Debbie's Excel file, she has given me the ok to forward it to you. Just e mail me and I'll send it along.
I tried out some sample quilting last night, oh boy was that fun! I just have to keep my wits about me to spell everything correctly.
Here's my quilt top- it measures 44 x 52 inches. I tried various backgrounds and the HST' wanted to be together. When I put them up on the design wall I liked the flow of colors. Kathy

Kathy I just sent you an email requesting the list. So glad to have that done already for me. I'm almost done with my top and for the back, I'm planning to embroider the names and use them in the Ocean Waves quilt pattern. I will post pics when I get a little of it done but it's going to take some time to do all that embroidery. You top looks great!

Hi Patti, I've sent it to you and a few others. It was wonderful to have that list, thanks to Debbie's organization skills. I can't wait to get started quilting it now- I thought about using clear monofilament thread, but I found some light tan Aurifil that will be perfect. I wonder what future historians will think when they find a bunch of quilts, all with some notation that they were made by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Triangles in 2011? Kathy

I think they'll get it and be delighted to have all that archival reference. I often think that TQS is leaving an historical mark. The BOMs, etc.

Here is my Friendship Triangle Exchange "sew far". Opted for Edyta's Medallion Quilt. Now I'm stalled on borders, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the assembly process. It has been so fun to see other quilters' fabric selections. Please excuse the blurry photo!

Charae, Rosemary and Kathy-- Your quilts are beautiful. I love the variety that is possible from the HST.
