Looking for quilting ideas to use your HSTs in? Elsie Campbell has a new book! Here is her TQS profile: community/my-profile/LCCampbell
and you can see her on TQS Episode 407

Here is an e-mail I got from her today:
Squares and Triangles book is here! Get your copy now for 20% off during this pre-release sale. I have plenty of books in stock right now, so no waiting for shipment!

          Regular price: $19.95
          Sale price: $15.96 until May 1, 2011.

I so enjoyed making the quilts that are patterned in the book and I think you will, too. There are so many things I've discovered over the years that makes quilt making quick, easy, and precise from the beginning of the process. I've included in this book some of my techniques for accurate cutting of strips and squares, tips for improving stitching and pressing, one method for fusible appliqué, how I use freezer paper for mitering corners and how I apply bindings completely by machine. The how-to pages are accompanied by more than 60 clear photographs and easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions. I included hints for making perfect 4-patch and 9-patch blocks and 3 different ways to make lots of perfect half-square triangle units.

All 13 easy-to-make quilt patterns include color, full-page photographs of each quilt, clear instructions and diagrams. I've also provided a list of resources where you can find the products I suggest in the book.

Thanks for your interest in my work. I think you will have lots of fun making your own versions of these Squares and Triangles quilts.

It looks like there are more quilts that use squares, but I like the cover quilt with triangles!

Ritzy - Returned from a long weekend away and raced though the door to see my HSTs. What fun! Separated them all, peeked at several to see the batik combos, lingered over so many names - especially now that I can match them with faces. It felt like a reunion of friends. Trying to determine exactly how to memorialize all the participants on my quilt by using printable fabric, so, dare not press them open yet.

Thanks so much for all of them, for taking on the project and bending with all the challenges. Take a bow!

Every thing came to a sudden halt when I picked up my mail and found my half squares this morning. I had to look at every single one and who and where they came from. What a treasure, I will be keeping all the paper labels in a note book to go this quilt into history. I will feel the special warmth of your sharing and caring when I am working on it and using it. Love you all.

Thank you ladies. I had a lot of help and encouragement from Margo. Debbie and Clara were rooting for me too. Then there was Kathy, Loren and Michelle who helped to sort. Definitely not a one woman job.

I totally agree with Windy, Everything came to a halt when I got home from work and found my HST waiting for me in my mailbox!, oh how exciting it was to touch each one and think of all of our new friends that we now have. I have so much admiration for Ritzy, Loren, Kathy and Michelle, and Margo, Debbie and Clara too! You are all wonderful for taking the time to show us how much we are are loved.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

We got ours as well. I say we because my husband was right there, sorting through them all, seeing where they were from. He even knew who Alex and Ricky were. I'm not sure how I'm going to record the information on this quilt. I have an idea for a pattern, just not sure how I will document it. I hate to lose the information provided with each HST. What are others planning?

Thank you Ritzy and thank you to the providers of the HSTs. Woo Hoo!

My 15 year old granddaughter stopped by today to work on a quilt she is making and brought my mail in with her. I always enjoy having her stop by and today she brought a package in with her with the HSTs enclosed. I had told her about the exchanges and she couldn’t wait to sit down with me to look at the fabrics and to see where they all came from. Couldn’t have asked for a better day! ! Thank you so much Ritzy and all who helped and contributed

I was thinking about writing everyone down and then scanning it and putting it on fabric for the label but then I thought I could scan the papers with that info on and have their info. So, I guess I don't know.

Got home from school today to find my HST's waiting for me! It's so exciting. Can I really wait for Summer break to play with them? We'll see. Ritzy, thanks again for doing all the hard work.
