I don't know what I'm doing wrong but my message doesn't seem to go through as private message. I sent a message last Saturday that I had mailed 504 plus individual baggies for Norway, Christchurch and Australia. The lady at the post office wouldn't put on stamps and sealed my package before I got my return package numbered. It sounds like my email didn't go through. I also mailed some cash yesterday to help with the food. Thanks for all the time and effort put into the project. Debbie, I'm sorry this is not going through the correct email. shirley35

Shirley, I'll talk you through an email for Debbie. First find Debbie's (NaneeWolf-she's in a pink shirt) photo in this forum. She's all over the place on this thread. Next look just under her picture. You will see two little icon buttons. One that looks like a little chess piece and the other that is an envelope. Click on the envelope. This is a quick way to send her an email through the forum. Then type away and click on the "E-mail" button when your done. All is good.

If you are ever wondering and not sure about the icons and what they mean hover your mouse over them. Don't click and usually there will be some text that will come up. Like on the envelope when you hover it will say "e-mail NaneeWolf. Now you know you have the right button. Clara.

I think my message was sent, as far as I can tell I didn't click the envelope button. Thank you Clara and all the wonderful ladies working on this. I plan to make Edyta's Medallion Quilt pictured on the front of one of her books. My quilt guild is having a quilt show in September and I plan to enter this and hope to have it finished by September. I took a picture of my triangles before mailing and if I can figure out how to send it I will.

        Thanks a million!

Post a picture on the forum.

After you have entered your text in. Because we need to tell the story of our fabric and quilts. You will see two choices just below the text box. "Submit" and "Full Editor" Click on "Full Editor". A little more below the text box on the left you will see the word "Option" just to the right of that you will see "Upload Attachment" click on "Upload Attachment" now you will have the area that helps the most. Click on the button that says "Browse". It should pull up a window that shows you YOUR computer and its files. Go find your file click on it and then press open. That window will close and you are ready to click on "Add the file" that was right next to the "Browse" button.

Now your photo has been added to your text. If you want two or three photos, just repeat the steps. Now I want to see some photos of quilts and ideas. Get busy quilters! Hee Hee Clara

Hey, are there any math wizards out there? I just received Edyta's Friendship Triangles book and it's fabulous. I decided to make the Tree of Life pattern with my friendship triangles. However, when reading the directions, it calls for 2 1/2" finished triangles. If anyone has a chance to look at this, I sure would like some ideas on how to modify the cuts for the 2" size HST's. Does anyone know the formula for figuring out the set-in triangles for the size block you need?

The tree trunk block is another story. It uses a template that would be hard to modify. I might be able to applique the tree trunks onto the modified size square of fabric. I don't see a problem with adjusting the applique for the borders. I wonder what size quilt this would make and if I should make more blocks to enlarge it a bit.

              Thanks SISTAS!

Hi Shirley If the triangles are 2 1/2" finished then raw edge they are 3" squares wouldn't you cut a 3" square and cut it in half diagonally to fit. All the math makes my head hurt I just ordered the pattern for Mountain Top that is the one I fell in love with. Good luck Joan

Shirley, on Edyta's Tree of Life pattern the HSTs are 2-1/2" UNFINISHED size, which is what we are using! The directions say that the finished block size is 14" x 14" and the drawing of the layout for one block is 7 blocks x 7 blocks!! So you can use the pattern just as it's written!

I just made Edyta's Tree of Life block and used the 2 1/2 unfinished size triangle or the 2" HST using her papers, complete with the printed set in piece. Worked like a charm. Try one before you try to adapt the pattern. It is indeed lovely! NancyW

OK ya'll, call me a little dingy today. As soon as I posted my message, I had a suspicion that I read the instructions wrong, but didn't feel up to reading instructions again. Been suffering from extreme allergies for about a week now and my brain seems to have completely shut down. It's a good thing I didn't go into my sewing room today with all those dangerious tools!!

But, I'm so thrilled that I can use the pattern as instructed and can't wait to get started on it. Thanks, Margo for bringing me a little good news on an otherwise miserable day. I'm impressed that others have already made this pattern and would love to see some pics.

My darling great nephew (bless his hide, anyway) was here on Friday and we were doing some cutting and pasting with construction paper. I went down stairs to change the laundry and hang the stuff out of the dryer, leaving hm by himself. (Shoulda known better, but he is 4 so thought it would be OK.) When I cam back up and finished putting the laundry away, I went back to join him. "Loo, Auntie Ethel!!! I made some triangles." Guess what he had cut up!! Yup. The rest of my triangle sewing paper. Hope I can get some more in time to finish.

                              hello ethel
if you can't get a hold of the triangle papers in time - here's a great link to download the hst pattern and print yourself
                              these work very well http://www.quiltingandwhatnot.ca/Hal...-Triangle.html
just make sure you download and print the correct size - also make sure you do not have the "fit to page size" (or similar) checked - but print "as is" - you can check if it has printed properly with the 1-inch test square on the top right corner

know these have saved my but more than once
