LOL - I'm a CPA (love math) but I wouldn't begin to take on the sorting challenge! Those who will send 615 will ensure that each of us gets one of their HSTs though!
I hope the sorters will try to include at least one non-US triangle in each US bag though. That way, we would each be able to lay claim to a truly international quilt when we're done!
FYI - my papers arrived last week - I love them. Having used the fusible system, I have to say the paper's from Laundry Basic are much more precise. They stay put much better than slick fusibles...

Sorting. Ok, I will say this. The goal is to create a system so that we can act like an assembly line. Keep it simple. I would like to pass out each HST one by one to everyone. This means. ONE BY ONE x 615 quilters. Ooof. There is no way we can tell you know how many HST are coming yet. About 50% posted their numbers, but some might change their mind because of the excitement we are all feeling. Let's just say a boat load! We will be marking them down as they come in so we give the right number back. That's important. So in the end, we'll add them up and release the big number. For now, my head is swimming with the thought "we need a bigger boat" or I mean sorting room. What's on the check list? Good pizza place, big boom box (gotta keep us moving in a rythum), lots of caffeine, bigger boat and sharpies. Always need sharpies. Have fun in the process.

Maybe I do need a sorting hat?

Number of quilters from USA
It would be great to know number of quilters from what US States
I would love to put all the info on the back of my quilt, put names, even it is just first names and the States and/or countries the HST’s came from.
That would be fun to have for history and connect our quilts!!

I would even love to get a 2” signature square from everyone to put on the back of the quilt with their name (just first name if they want) city and state and/ or country they are from to put on the back of the quilt. What do ya’ll think?

I'd like to hear from the other participants in Louisiana. I did a search but then realized that those who might have used the LA abbreviation (like I did) won't show up in a search. I can't search for LA becaue the search protocol requires more than two letters to qualify as a word.
I know we have folks from Haughton, St. Francisville, New Orleans, and Monroe (me). I just wondered how many other members of the Who Dat/Pelican State might be participating and where you live.
Hope you are snuggling under lots of quilts during this unusually cold weather we're experiencing. (me with chattering teeth. Brrr...)

Someone has suggested scanning the names from the triangle papers and printing it on fabric to use either on the back or as part of the front of the quilt. Maybe that would work for you? You probably won't get names on all of the papers, but there should be lots!

I sent someone a message, but intended it for everyone, so here goes again.
A suggestion re: labeling the HST's: I just moved a while ago, so I'm thinking of getting a self-inking stamp and stamping the back of all the papers. I think you can get them pretty cheap at Staples or some such store. Put as little or as much info on them as you like. These are also great for stamping into books and other stuff you lend out, or many other things, including return addresses on all your snail mail!

Fabrics are on their way to me also, so soon I can get sewing!
Thank You djane for instruction (on page 63 on this thread) on using Usps Ship-n-Click for International return postage! I managed to create account for me, and played a bit on creating a label to return envelope. I think only problem was choosing mailing date. There was only four options: today or three days from today. And you had to pick one of those. I could not find option to leave mailing date open. Otherwise, I could have just payed and printed the label.

Okay, for those of you (us?) who are ambitious, if you do 22 of the 28 HST papers from Edyta, that's 616 HSTs.
I'm using the Triangulations which have 12 per page. I would need 3 x 17 of these pages to make 612 HST's.
Not trying to encourage anyone to go for it, just providing information!

I used the blank return address mailing labels, size 1/2" x 1 3/4", made by Avery. Microsoft Word has all of Avery's templates already in their software. I printed my screen name, town, state and country and stuck them onto the HST papers before sewing....they fit perfectly.

I hope there aren't any quilt police in the group. I have 2 more hours of sewing to do then will be ready for cutting. All of those dashed lines are making me dizzy. So how close to the line do the stitches have to be? If they're hugging the line sometimes is that good enough? There's no way to do that much sewing and keep them exactly on the line at all times, not as fast as I like to sew anyway. I was getting too many pin pricks on the machine I started with so switched to a machine with more space to the right of the needle. At one point it was sewing when I wanted it to stop and stopping when I wanted it to sew. It straightened out though and maybe I will be able to finish the rest of them with no problems. Since each of my sheets makes 30 I will keep 2 from each that are the least perfect. I'm making 930 triangles, but will only be sending 616 for this exchange. Some of them are for the batik only exchange and I will donate some to the Queensland Flood Victims. I will send those in a separate package so they won't have to be separated.
