I'm one of those "lurkers". I can't start my day without TQS but do not really participate. I get wonderful info and enjoy all the areas. The ONLY reason I would not renew my membership (I've already done that) would be so I could get some actual sewing completed! LOVE this site!!! Betty D

And that's the truth! My husband says I do all my sewing on the computer now, but he is prone to exaggeration!

I'm so behind, it's not funny!!! Has anyone seen when the Series 4 shows will be posted? I just looked and they're not there.

TQS you are the greatest!! Over the years I have learned many art and craft techniques. Four years ago I started art quilting and have become so well informed about it and traditional quilting. It's not the easiest art that I've done but it is the easiest art to learn about because of the 'information hiway' of the internet. TQS has been a very, very large part of this education for me. It has taught me so much and I can't say enough 'THANK YOU's to THE QUILT SHOW and those who put it on. Keep up the good work!!  I plan on being a forever member!! Carolyn

Since I couldn't make up my mind whether I should renew or not, I decided to give it another year. By next year I hope to know if this is worth it to me. Buying the Series, not watching and then buying the dvd's can get expensive for each Series. That's what I've been doing. It's just not very easy to watch on line.

Rorimer, I am so glad you have signed up again. I dont usually watch the shows online. Its not particularly comfy sitting in my computer chair. I buy the dvd when it comes out so that I can watch it on tv at my leisure. What I find priceless is all the other things on the website. I think that you said you only use the forum? Try out all the other things on the site. You'll be surprised, there is so much! One of the most important things to me is the sense of community, love and support that can be shared. I have made so many friends on this site. I cant imagine life without it now.

Pam what other things on this site do you suggest? I do enjoy the Quilt Gallery but haven't looked at the Member Blogs very often, as I don't like to spend a lot of time reading (if it's not a murder mystery!). I would love to see suggestions. What is your favorite part of TQS?

Jo Anne, this is my routine. Log in, check out the daily blog, check the member blogs and if it is someone I know read it now. (Otherwise save till later) Check out the forum. Then depending on my time I review the quilt gallery, the challenges and show and tell. Usually then I log off and later in the day check the daily and member blogs again and stories and slideshows (if someone reminds me) Every few days I check out the search list and contact new people when I can. I also do a search any time we go to a new area for members and LQS in that area and then make contact to check on hours open or ig someone wants to meet up. If I could figure out to have 48 hours every day I could do more here and still get some quilting done. Please Bob the Web Guru, figure that out!!!!! LOL But when I am ill or can't get on line I feel very lonesome. This is my Guild, my Support System and includes a lot of my friends. I have wonderful friends where we live but you guys are the BEST. Ann

JoAnne, Ann got in before me with her schedule. Mine is very similar. I check the daily blog and often links from that (some of the videos have been great fun), Members blog, then the forum. All these things I do daily if at all possible. The quilt gallery is always great for inspiration. Whilst I am not making the Block of the Month, I am always keen to see what others have done. This may be shown in their members blog or on show and tell. One of the greatest things for me is the sense of community that I get from this online guild of support and encouragement whether in quilting or life in general. I feel as if I have known some of these people for years and yet we have never met. Also like Ann, Dana and many others I am a major Ricky Tims fan. My christmas presents included some Ricky's fabric, one of Ricky's Cds and the series 2 dvds. I hope that you can find the time to enjoy more of the website over the next year. Pam in very cold Uk

JoAnne, I, too, check the Daily Blog daily, then the Forum--what a help when SandyTn mentioned the little button on the right of the Forum: "View posts since your last visit"--I can see very quickly all the forums that have new posts and check the one's I'm interested in.

I look at member blogs each day but don't read very many of them. I look for specific people and catchy titles. I rarely look at the Gallery but I often check out the profiles of those whose work interests me. I wish more people would post a photo and quilts to their profile.

I am so eager for the BOM I can hardly stand it! That starts tomorrow and I will be looking at the BOM Show and Tell each visit too.

Yep, we can spend lots of time on this site but isn't it grand?

Ann, Pam and Barbara, thank you for telling me what you like here. Barbara, I didn't know about that button to click to see what's new since my last visit! Slick! That will save me time when I'm at the Forum, thank you.

I haven't read many of the members' blogs, the ones I've read were not my cup of tea so I haven't gone back. I do read the Daily Blog every single day. I'm going to do my best to get more out of this place, thank you for the ideas.

I did check out Show & Tell last night but couldn't find anything. I'll have to give that another try.

                        Happy new year, all!

I have a laptop so I enjoy watching the shows online. I probably won't buy the DVD's--I'm currently watching shows a second time that interest me. Judy in Torrance

I accidentally signed for for series 4 and 5 twice!

I looked at my profile a few weeks ago and saw that the last numbered star had a 3 in it, so figured my membership expired with the third series. When I renewed for 4 and 5, I realized I had already done this a month and a half earlier. :/

Wrote an e-mail, and got a very nice note back from Cap'n John saying they're not necessarily going to have the numbers for every series in the little membership stars anymore. He said they were still thinking out what to do instead.

From now on, if I'm not sure, I'll click on "My Account" instead of "My Profile" and see what I've already bought.
