    Drum roll, please!

Clara, you'll have to update your lists. I have been on a shopping spree again (rather than buying more fabric). Even though these gems have not arrived here yet (can take a little while because of the Atlantic being in the way) I'm very excited. My purchase has been confirmed by email, and the the quilts now say "Sale Pending".

9606 Memories ($50.00)...... waving to Renata!
9797 Doodle Plume ($80.00)..... Waving to Rita (flat or 3D, giggle)
    9803 Galaxy 4 ($50.00)
    10087 Northern Lights ($45.00)

All I can say to everybody: Go on.... treat yourself to a little gem in the 'For Sale' section. You won't regret it!

And now I better not spend anymore money and start saving. My car is 10 years old and will need replacing sometime.

I have been lax about following the Forum and TQS for a number of months so missed this thread.

One of the issues getting in the way of what I want to do and what gets done is that my husband has been diagnosed with early Alzheimer's Disease. Even though he is able to do all of the daily routine that he has always done, I have to be hypervigilant in areas of short term memory. Grocery lists must be written carefully, reminders for certain things need to be posted, etc. etc.

I had three Priority quilts started in memory of some special friends. This spring I finished them and five more. They are posted at AAQI and are #s 10133-10140. Seven of them are listed on the quilts for sale section and one is in the August Auction. I just e mailed Clara to register them with the TQS contributions. Unfortunately due to the fact that I was finishing them and getting them in the mail just as we were getting ready to leave our home in Texas for our summer travels and I FORGOT (neglected) to take pictures of them. I promise not to do that again in the future.

I have one more Priority quilt in progress. My husband's friend and co worker has advanced Alzheimer's Disease. They were coworkers at the Minnesota Highway Department. I wonder if all the diesel fumes contribute to the coincidence of these two men ending up with the same disease at approximately the same time. I will post here when I get that one finished.

I will be monitoring this thread more carefully now. Blessings to Ami, Clara and everyone who has participated here.

      Hugs, Ann

Ann, I just had a look at all your AAQI quilts and they are beautiful. I am so sorry to hear about your husband and his colleague. Maybe someday soon they will discover what is causing this terrible disease. In the meantime we will have to fight it one quilt at a time. Best wishes to you and your husband, Rita.

Lorchen, thank you so much for purchasing my Doodle Plume! I am thrilled to bits that you did. That was definitely a one of a kind, never to be repeated! You are a very kind and generous woman.

Rita, I wanted your Doodle Plume since I saw it for the first time. I'm just glad that I spotted it before anybody else did.

Oh, no. I had been eyeballing that lovely set of feathers with all the creative doodles. Glad it found a good home. Clara

Well that's not bad at all. However, we would really need a few more done before the end of the year to reach the goal of 1000 quilts from TQS! Time to get buying and quilting.

                        :P yeahhhhhhhh :P
                        purchased 2 quilts
Nr. 9538 ($100) yup - your great horse nr. 2, clara
                        Nr. 10490 ($45) rita's tambani embroidery
two prezzies down - ??? more to go :P

however, we've found a glitch  i've been keeping ami and her AAQI web-guru busy ops: ops: ops:
it seems that if i'm in one country i cannot purchase an AAQI country to be shipped into another country than my own or the US...
it's a safety precaution against credit card frauders :x scuzzy card frauders :x
anyway, they're trying to work a way around this and fix it
                        but....
if you have the same or similar problem and the internet system will not let you complete the order - change the shipping address back to your own - and be sure to write a little note in the "comment section" (just under the shipping details section), giving the correct shipping address and asking them to contact you with the correct shipping cost.
                        - i can vouch that there are all fabulous, helpful, real people behind the scenes at AAQI and we want to be able to purchase these lovelies and make sure they get shipped to all our friends from anywhere around the world.

i herewith appologize to ami and co for being such a pain - but i have two friends in canada who are going to be sooooooooooo happy to get these
and there are more friends out there who will hopefully be getting some AAQI quilts soon too 8)

Lotti, what you have done is dangerous! You'll want to do it again, and again......

i know - but if feels soooooo good !

actually - i had tried before - but because i couldn't get the shipping to work i gave up.
this time around i ended up giving my friend's dad's p.o. box in the states - she can then pick it up there - and pass the second one on...
but it certainly would be a shame if they missed out on selling quilts because of a fraud-safety-implementation
why is it that i keep discovering these limitations and wierd problems? is it really just me that tries to do the semi-impossible

Glad my horsey found a good home. You are right Lorchen, you can get into a lot of trouble. When I go down to Houston in the fall, I get into a lot of trouble at their booth. Last time I brought home 8!!! Yikes. Clara

Congratulations Lotti! So pleased you chose one of mine! I agree with you about the limitations of postage. And it would be great if they could get it sorted out. They just need one of those pages where you fill in both the billing address and the shipping address. I am sure you have got them all with their thinking caps on now. Anyway, I hope the recipients like their gifts.
