    Your golden quilt really shines!

Rosemary, I just relooked the binding of your little quilt--although it gave off a blue hue at a distance, on closer look it appears to be seafoam green with lavender flowers. Am I still mis-reading the colors? :?

Your description of colours is pretty acurate. Here is the back

I just wrapped the backing around, started stitching it down in the middle of one long side and 'told' the corners 'what for' - that I expected them to do for a nice mitre, and no arguments!

The quilting is even less obvious here, I suspect that it will sell better at Houston, rather than online.

Lovely little quilt Rosemary. Like rays of sunshine!

Clara, just looking through the list there are two missing of mine - 10,490 and 10,491. The rest are there. Going through the list made me realize that I have made 11 quilts so far for AAQI.

Thanks for double checking the numbers. I had your numbers next to your name on my list, but not in the list of numbers. Ooops. All better now. Thanks.

WOW 11 quilts. You have been busy. You should be very proud. I am. Thanks again for doing this. Clara

Rita, you are prolific! Did you make the $1000 promise?

Everyone, be on the lookout for a smilebox appearing on the TQS website soon. I just turned one in. Don't know when it's hitting, but very soon. I will also have the link if anyone wants to share with loved ones too. Clara

Hold on to your hats ladies because I might just blow them off this morning. I received a wonderful email from Jen Hinwood who would like to add what she has created this year so far and continue for the rest of the year. Here's the really windy part. She has created 44 this year already!!!!!!!! Holy Guacamole!!! With this kind of passion it was good to see that she already signed up for the $1000 promise that AAQI has, because she is well on her way to reaching that one.

Here are 3 samples of her work. Hopefully she will post soon and introduce herself. Clara

Wow! 44 quilts already this year - now that's something.

Roseanne, no I did not make any promise except that I thought I might do one a month. I think I started in January and the extra spools helped me get to 11. I still have three more spools to go. I like doing these little quilts because they are quick and fun after doing something big.

This makes our big total to 124 quilts!

I'll get you the breakdown soon when I put in all her numbers.

Hello to all my fellow AAQI quilters! I just want you to know that this program WORKS! I have submitted 44 quilts this year and 17 of them have sold for a total of $805. I have one called 'Naranja' in the August auction. Sitting down with a little pile of scraps or an orphan block is like play time when I only have to come up with a 9" x 12" piece. Then I get to enjoy it again while I'm watching tv with my DH in the evening and binding & beading my new pieces. This program has brought me a great deal of satisfaction & peace and opened up a whole different avenue for giving service. It's not about the numbers for me, it's about the feeling I get when I send off a package of Priority Quilts. I'm hoping many TQS members will take the opportunity to achieve that feeling at least once this year.

Jen, I just had a look at your Naranja quilt and it is beautiful. I agree with you about the feeling you get when you send off a package. Happy quilting.

I don't get that feeling when I ship one off. It's usually that nervous feeling of crap I'm sending this out to the world, hope it gets there kind of feeling. Then when it arrives I feel GOOD!!! Silly, I know. Clara
