Marilyn, I was trying to post a response about your previous two UFO and say that they are just gorgeous when you posted this one! Wow. It looks amazing. Well done.

Renata, love your practice piece and what a great idea. My vet would probably love some too. Thanks for that.

Another gong sounding for finishing a UFO. Marilyn that is exquisite, well done.

Marilyn, you inspired me! SO, I pulled out a table runner I pieced dreadfully in about 1990 when I was entirely self taught. Fabric is wonderful, but tops of the 8 pieced pine trees are lopped off. It is, however, a perfect piece for FMQ practice. The funny thing is, that my non-quilting-jewelry-making-very-artistic sister loves it and wants to put it in her shabby chic studio??!!?? Go figure. Well the "shabby" part is right! Although I am threatening to put a label on it that reads "NOT made by Charae...." it just proves that most people don't judge us as critically as we judge ourselves!

Well, lets see, then, how the embroidery module and computer software might get along with Rita... If they don't like it, they can always try running away from home!

Last week, at my kitty's wellness exam, I handed over to my vet a nicely sized practice quilt I had made, nothing I really wanted to keep but the materials were good and the piece was large enough to put in the container they keep pets in when hospitalized. They were so happy because pets are so scared when they come in for an extended stay or even just overnight and to be either wrapped in or lay on such a soft, warm blanket does make a difference. They often use towels but don't have many of those either because they rely on donations, but the vet really liked the practice quilt and the fact that it can be put in the washer and dryer makes it reusable. You might find a good home for your unfinished pieces as long as the size is large enough to fit in the bottom of a cage and the edges are bound with an overlock stitch or large enough to wrap a larger dog who is ill is okay too... and you would not even have to do a complete finishing of the UFO. Just a thought...

And, you could name the piece "Doodles for Poodles, and the Like!" Or "Ditties for the Kitties" (It's been a tough day, so I just needed some silliness!)

Well, Dawn, I wish I had your sense of humor to think up those cute names for kitty and doggie blankets... I wouldn't have thought of that even if I'd had a good day! Wish you a good night's rest and a better tomorrow! But, I now know who to come to for names for my quilt labels!

My daughter and I each made a quilt for a quilt contest with a theme of "Quilting in the Pines." Her pine trees had points cut off everywhere. Although we never got them finished for that particular contest, she eventually got hers done and named it "A Pointless Disaster in the Pines!"

Joan, congratulations for getting a UFO finished! Can't wait to see it. When you write your posting, scroll down to the tab on the left below where you either Save, Preview or Submit where it says Upload attachment. Click on that. Then click on browse--find where you saved your photo and double-click to upload it. Then click on "Add the file". After you've done that, in the same you'll see something that says "add inline" and you click that. The picture will then be in your posting. Hope I'm not too confusing and that this helps you surprise Margo in the morning with a new UFO photo!
