Okay here's my first try at my colorway. I didn't color all the flowers, but my plan is to use multiple color combinations on those. I may change a few more colors along the way since I'm going to shop my stash for this quilt. Note that I am going to make a smaller version of this.

What about a two color quilt? Khaki and red???

The stripes in the secondary sashing seem to be an even number, so the color placement around the stars in the cornerstones would need to be tweaked.

I can't figure it out (of course I'm not a computer whiz).
Terrina, if you saved the PDF file with the colors when it fist came out there was an issue with the solids printing in grey scale. That has now been corrected. Please download the new file from the website and try printing again.

Very interesting BJ and Margo. I had been thinking of doing a red and white version but got stumped by the cornerstones. But now that I have the template I can give it another whirl. Thanks for posting your ideas, it is so helpful.

It would be nice if the fabric requirements stated which fabrics are used where. Some are easy to determine from the picture of the quilt, but with so many different fabrics of the same color (e.g., turquoise), it's difficult to tell them apart.

Thanks, Margo. I didn't think about going back to the fabric requirements page. I thought it was my printer (which has been acting up).

Below is another idea for coloring the 2012 BOM.

This is my first version of coloring the quilt using the line drawing by Annis and Photoshop Elements. While I like this version, the problem is that I used two fabrics from my stash and needed to find fabrics that worked with how I colored the quilt.

This is the second version of the quilt. Using fabrics from my stash and my local quilt store, I found a combination of fabrics that I wanted to work with. I used photos of the fabric and the eyedropper tool to get the color, and colored a second version.

Sue I really like it! However, if you think it's too wishy-washy, add just a few elements of bright white and see what happens!

Rita, I have decided to do a red and khaki version, but am not doing the month 2 sashings at all....just adding more of the diamond sashing from month 1 so I don't have to re figure the striped sashings! And I am also going to change the position of the red diamonds to separate them from the cornerstones and give a full red diamond at each end.

What I plan to do is use the coloring on the templates as my layout, putting my red where the orange is indicated:

But instead of adding the gold strip between the turquoise side of the units, I will turn mine around so that my red is the dominate color:

That seems to correct the issue of what color winds up next to the cornerstones.
