Wow, thanks for the great block show Margo and kudos to the gals who have finished theirs. I am now to all the circles in block 4 as I had to put the block down to get ready for Christmas. My 6 mo kitten thinks if I leave the applique block out she can pull pins out. I have to put everything away each time I stop. Have not had a kitten for over 20 yrs so have a learning curve. This is better than a class as I never get to see anyone's blocks or finished quilt when the class is over. and I am back home. Just love the internet way of teaching and the download info. I have joined the TAS local applique group around here and since I am working on this quilt I feel more like I belong as I am gaining more experience with each block. Being retired for 9 yrs and away from friends that I worked with is very different. I thank all of you for your show and tell and hope to get some pictures ready from Margo's instructions so can send them in. I have also gone to the EQ site and am working on learning the last year mystery quilt blocks to learn that program. One of my Christmas gifts. I want to say thank you to all who are sharing your projects and friendship.

Looks great Barbara. The print really pulls it together. There are so many ways to finish it, I want to do them ALL! ha

Hi Barbara, Lynn is right, the print does indeed pull it all together, with the holidays nearing the end, I hope to work on piecing mine together, I've got two rows pieced, now for the other two, and then ALL of the half-square triangles to make, what am I thinking??? I'll be glad to get mine posted as well. Heidi

I finished my BOM top today. and I have all the blocks and the quilt top posted on Show and Tell - BOM. It feels great to have it done, and really good to get all the blocks and quilt posted on Show and Tell.
Now to think about the quilting, as it will go to the quilter next week.
I might have to get fabric for the backing, I have a some fabric that would do but I think I want to keep that for the 2009 BOM quilt.

It's beautiful, Margarita! I wish now that I had done a sashing like yours!

I got mine posted tonight too. I really wish I had done it differently, but I'm glad it's finished (before the end of December!) and I'm ready to see what everone does with the 2009 BOMs!!!

Terri, I missed yours somehow until tonight. It's beautiful!!

It's so much fun to see how different they are all turning out!

I finished my quilt top today. :!: I hope to post the photo in a few minutes. DH has to help and of course, there's football on.....HA!

I plan on hand quilting a grid on the blocks but am thinking about using Quilt on a Roll and doing the borders by machine. I'm still deciding whether I'll use a black batting. I did on another black quilt and am glad, but with the lighter fabric on the borders...

I really enjoyed this whole BOM. It was such fun having a new pattern each month on the first and with just a block to do each month, it didn't seem that hard. When I put the last border on today and stood back I had to say "Oh MY God!". I just love that OMG moment when you get a look at the finished quilt after working up close on each block for so long. :P

This was really fun to work on and I'm glad I did it in such odd colors. I DO love all your traditional quilts tho. My DH says it's a bit too "busy" and "loud" but pretty. My next project is a quilt for him - in neutrals! How's that for a change!

Nancy in Western NY where it was wet, warm and windy this weekend! Happy New Year everyone. A new BOM coming soon!

Beautiful, Nancy! Very striking. Had to look up your "quilt on a roll" as had never heard of it! Interesting.

Whoo-Hoo! I finished my top too! I'm such a procrastinator, so this finished top (when it's supposed to be done) is a huge deal for me! I was 3 months behind at one time(they were the all the blocks that had berries and little pieces too!) I want to encourage anyone out there, you can do it...keep at it...it feels so good to have this one under my belt! You too, can finish this beautiful top!
I'm a new appliquer(sp? word?) I wasn't even sure I could applique when we started. What a great bunch of cheerleaders you all are, you gals have really made a difference. I didn't want to let my TQS buddies down....I was gonna get this top done!
I have to thank Camille for the inspiration for my borders!!
I like to send my top to the LongArm quilter...but that is me...so I'm going to get some batting tomorrow and start in on the quilting process!
                        Blessings,
                        Debbie S.
PS: Nancy, your quilt is stuning!!

Margo and Nancy love your quilt tops. They are all so different. We will have quite a diverse collection of the same quilt. Not 2 alike.

Hi, everyone. I am sure enjoying seeing how beautiful and unique the BOM quilt tops are turning out. The variety of colors are enjoyable to see. I am on holiday break and have been catching up on my sewing! It sure has been relaxing for me. We have had unusual winter storms here in Washington and I did not have to have any excuse to stay home, LOL. It was horrendous to be driving around so stayed home and have enjoyed the time to sew!!

I love how the BOMs are coming together and getting some great ideas on what I want to do with mine. I am working on my last block and I am determined to have it finished by midnight Dec 31 and maybe I can start setting them together New Year's Day.

Margarita, love the sashing! Its simple, yet has a wonderful impact! It's WOW!

Margo, OMG. Did you have circle mania! Yes, I know it's not hand sewn, but you must have been dizzy by the time you were done. Just wonderful use of applique in that border, especially with all the vines coming out of the corner vase. I'm awestruck!
