Nancy, perfect border fabric, as it really acts as a frame for the picture inside.

I love looking at how everybody is hanging or laying the top out for the picture. We are innovative bunch!

Debbi, great top! Camille's ribbon was a great idea, and you have executed it very nicely! Have fun quilting it! Let me know how you do it, as I still haven't got the inspiration of what to tell my long arm quilter.

Hi all - thanks for the nice comments. Debbie - I may add a bow like yours on my border. It's really stunning.

I realized that since I wanted to photograph the quilt top and not the whole finished quilt (heavier) I could probably use magnets and hang it over my steel front door in the foyer. It worked great! I left it there for quite a while; I wonder if anyone noticed as they walked by and were puzzled!

I'm off to search for backing fabric today! Several coupons in hand! Yea!

Nancy in NY where last weeks 2' of snow is just about gone. Wierd!

Nancy, I used to do that at our last home with its steel double door. That is why I noticed how you did yours. Now I don't have that, so have to come up with other ways of doing it.

I've just gotten a chance to look at all the finished quilts in Show & Tell and it is SOOOO exciting to see them coming together! I finished my December block but had to tear down my sewing room to let it be a guest room for Christmas & haven't gotten it back yet, so putting it together will have to be a 2009 project. I love the varieties you all have shown in your borders and sashings!! Great work everyone!!

I am so loving seeing your completed quilts. I feel like we've been on a journey together! Nancy - your quilt is luminous! Margo, the borders are original and give the quilt a whimsical quality. Margarita, I love the sashing treatment and your color choices. Debbie, the ribbon on the border looks great without looking overdone. Way to go ladies!

Wow, wow, wow!! This is SO much fun watching these exciting quilts come together. I haven't seen a top yet that I don't love. How amazing is that?! Are all BOMs like that or is this an unusual bunch? I think the latter but I've never done a BOM.

Today is the 31st and I am assembling my BOM. I didn't think this project would be finished this year...I learned so many new things..
I am a better piecer than appliqurer
I am a better machine appliqurer than needle turned
I love Thangles...I am pretty good at half-square triangles, but these little babies are the best.
This has been a wonderful project and I will post a photo soon. Sue...many thanks for the inspiration and the journey. Thanks Margo for your presence and encouragement. A great year and Happy New Year to All. Dot

                      Dot -

Thank you for your kind comment -- and many thanks go to Margo for her kind inputs all year long. This has been a lot of FUN for me this year - and I'm looking forward to another great year and another great set of quilts.

                      Happy New Year to everyone!

Congratulations to all of you on completing your beautiful quilt tops. I love them all. Margo your border is amazing. I had to stop after 6 blocks due to many family health issues and did not have the energy to do another circle.
Thank you Sue for the applique experience, I did learn a lot. I can't wait for midnight to download the 2009 BOM. I am looking forward to doing paper and piece work (my comfort zone) and your quilt is beyond Beautiful.
Wishing everyone a Wonderful, Healthy, Happy New Year

Sandy, your blocks are beautiful, and I love the detail of all the outline embroidery! It really adds a lot to the design!
