I am so impressed with everyone's blocks. Nan, the wall hanging is so lovely. I can't decide what to do with my blocks when they are all finished. I really don't want to make a large quilt with them, but will maybe do wall hangings. I'm chugging along on September.

Thanks to everyone for the nice replys. I haven't started September yet as I like to finish one project before I start the next. I'm working backwards I quess, as I am getting the Jan., Feb. March & April blocks quilted(doing quilt as you go- -- I found it really easier to work with on a domestic machine). I should be done by monday and then I'll work on September. Nan

Well, what DO YOU DO in a huricaine? I'm going to machine applique my Sept block! I have it all ready to sew down, and all that's on the local TV (we don't have cable) is the weather that is now beginning to pound us here in Houston!

They expect the eye to cross to land about 2 a.m. and that's about the time we should get our strongest winds here in SW Houston.

I probably won't have power tomorrow a.m. - so better sew tonight!

Lynn, I hope that you will be safe. The news here in E. Central Illinois is all about Ike, also.

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, feeling better after a day of laying around feeling bad.

hi, everyone. Have been busy with piano lessons starting back up and working on Sept. BOM. Glad this block was easy! Since this had an insert, I used this block to incorporate something of my mother's. I have the explanation of what I used with the photo. I have been amazed both months how the items I chose, first my grandmother's hankie and now my mother's bookmark, fit perfectly!
I took my 9 blocks to my favorite quilt shop and laid them out, and it was fun to have the owner and others in the shop help decide on sashing/border materials. Sometimes it's good to have a discussion of options. I am surprised and excited by what I ended up with. I don't think I would have chose this on my own.
I am going to finish the quilt as Sue garmen has designed it. So,,,should we start a sashing border pic forum or wait til Jan?
And I have been quietly checking everyone's block too. So much fun to see everyone's beautiful blocks. Just haven't had time to write.

Oh, I should mention this! One gal that was in the shop, just loved the block patterns. So, I became a salesperson for the quiltshow.com, LOL
She wrote the website down and left the store planning on joining.

WOW! Terri, how special is that!!! Your quilt is sure to become a family heirloom! I hope that you include info about these special blocks on a permanent label so that it stays with the quilt!

I'm not sure if this is the place for this inquiry, but I know I'll get an answer here. I had written Sue Garman's blog address and now I can't find it. The website on the BOM site won't work. I did look at her blog once. I'm mad I lost the address. I know many of you have it. This time I'll put it in my favorites!

I finally found it, and discovered it was already in my favorites ops: ops: ops:

Terri, your block is so great! I love the light, bright colors! And the crocheted cross of your mother's is absolutely perfect!

Got my block uploaded tonight. I'll embroider the added "feet" to it later. I know I have a design downloaded somewhere but who knows where!
