I will quilt it free hand on my Gammill and I think I'll quilt it pretty heavily. Ideas are running amuck thru my head!!!

Love you're colors, isn't it great to be done with the piecing? When you have it done please post again. What an accomplishment :-)

I've finally finished months 1 and 2. Whoever suggested basting the big circle first - thank you!!! I tried pinning and sewing a couple of times and it looked awful. Finished the basting late last night and will sew it by machine in a few minutes. I was reading ahead on the instructions, and I'm confused by months 6, 7 and 8. Do I print the templates out on Stable Stuff (if NOT Stable Stuff - what did everyone use?) and do I use the same technique as demonstrated in Month 2 sewing around the shapes for accurate placement of the shapes? The directions are a little confusing (or I'm having a major brain cramp), and watching the videos didn't clarify it for me. Thanks so much for any help you can provide. This is such a challenge for me, but I am DETERMINED to see it through.
        Regards,
        Sheila

Yes Sheila I did print on Stable Stuff and left it in the whole quilt I did stitch around each motive for placement then did a blanket stitch around each motive the extra work is so worth it Joan

Joan - thank you so much. I've just put together the templates for the first three "star" blocks in the next row - oh my aching back I thought for sure the center circle sew-in was going to do me in, but I persisted and while it's not perfect - you can't see the mistakes from the back of a galloping horse  Now I won't worry about those upcoming months. I loved the method of stitching the placement lines. Thanks again for your help.
            Regards,
            Sheila

I just posted a photo of my Sedona Star almost finished one corner to finish then sew all the corners on I don't know if I want the last border I plan on hanging it on the wall above my bed and the room is small

It looks great, Joan!!! I considered not adding the final border too, but I'm glad I did. If space is an issue, then it will look just as fantastic without the last border! Great job!!!

Hi 'sewiskath' you sounded well on your way in your posting. Like 'sewmea', I'm using my stash, plus purchases as I couldn't get the fabrics here in Ireland. I was full of great intentions to start in the Jan and keep up to date. Unfortunately, life and illness and bereavement got in the way. I wanted to enjoy this challenge and it's the loveliest block of the month I've seen [and others are beautiful]. Now I've started, I suddenly find that though I have the instructions for Feb., I don't have the template. Hoping that TQS can help!

I FINISHED WhooHoo It is ready to go to the quilter. I do not feel confident to quilt it myself, it was very challenging but I learned so much with this quilt.

Sheila I thought the stable stuff would stay in but Lisa told me to take it out except behind the applique if I would have know from the beginning I would have stitched smaller stitches, maybe then it would perforate better and come away easier. My twelve year old granddaughter helped me take it out along with a very good friend, some of the stitches came out when the stable stuff was pulled. I will get a photo when it is finished and post it. Joan
