I too am a first time BOMer. Very excited to start. I'm Kari from St. Charles, IL - stay at home mom of a 2.5 year old so I get very little time to quilt. My fabric just got here yesterday - I order from Thousands of Bolts using their color picker and I have to say I am loving the fabric. (As a matter of fact I am heading down stairs right now to iron while my son sleeps).

I also did the SOTTT - I was one of those that sent in almost 700 triangles! That is on my to do list this year. Hopefully I can get to it soon - but I have a few baby quilts to make for friends who are ready to deliver (as a matter of fact, one might come today!).

I love Sarah V's quilts and I am excited to see this one unfold for myself as well as everyone else!

Almost forgot to mention - today is my birthday! The fabric getting here finally, was a lovely birthday gift!

I'm doing the BOM. I haven't yet worked out my colorway, and keep playing with it. Once I get that done, I think I'll try to pull the fabrics out of my stash. I gave some thought to buying one of the kits, but I think I have so much stash I may just be able to make it almost entirely from the stash in colors I work out. Dawn and Maggie, I love the concept of a black background. This is going to be fun!

Very excited to meet everyone! Leslie from Northern California - overlooking the Pacific near Half Moon Bay. Weather is beautiful, sunny, somewhat crisp. My kids are grown and moved away (a little bit glad about this, a little bit sad and sniffley), and I work a temp/seasonal job mostly, so I have an off-season until March or April. Need to get as far on this BOM as I can. I think I have all my fabrics, just need to finalize the inner star/circle and begin! Oh YAY!

I am Muriel (Crowcafe) from the UK. I am hoping to do this one, although it seems quite daunting. I completed the 2009 BOM and love it and I am still working on the 2011. I dont like starting another major project until I complete the present one, but this looks very tempting.

This is my first time joining in a TQS BOM. I too was inspired by the lovely pattern and techniques. (The others were lovely but I felt too overwhelmed to jump in back then) I am using my own fabrics as well, a warm neutral color scheme. I am in Central California, near Sacarmento.

Hi, my name is Kathy and I live in sunny California. TQS was my christmas present to myself and the BOM sounds like fun.I feel a bit like goldilocks, the Sedona is a bit brite, the buttons a bit too tame. As I have never made a Christmas quilt, this pattern is screaming red green and gold to me. It just might have holly in the corners instead of circles. Only time will tell. I have looked at the results of the last 2 BOM's and feel like I missed out on a word of fun. So here I am with a pile of fabric and a smile on my face!

Hi, my name is Margarita and I live in Auburn, (near Sacramento) California.
I am sitting on the fence on this one. Not sure which side will let me put my feet down. It is a lovely quilt and I sure would like to make it. I have too many WIP''s (Works in progress) I have 2 more rows to do on DEAR JANE quilt-26 4-1!2" blocks and 7 border triangles to go. (hand pieced/appliqued) Then I am hand quilting 2 wall hangings, and then there are a bunch of other projects started. Also my eye on new projects,of my own and some with my quilting Bee, a crazy quilt and a color quilt. Then my small day guild want to do a block exchange of some kind. What to do ???? There are only 24hrs in a day, and a lot of things to do.

I fell in love with the "the under the big top Fizz collection when in show up at my local quilt shop. Now I know what quilt i'm going to make with it. I'm doing a happy dance that this years Bom is using this fabic collection. I am also back to working on my bom star quilt from last year.

Leslie, I used to live in San Mateo, and visited HMB as often as possible! I love that beach, and the Purisma Creek hiking trails! Margarita, Auburn is beautiful too, I used to love visiting up there! I understand your issue, Margarita. For every quilt we commit to, there are another three we wish we could do as well!

I'm in Western Australia so might have received instructions 12 hours+ ahead of US BOM-ers. I started last Monday and completed Month 1 today. I haven't done a BOM before and am finding it very interesting and learning new techniques already - not done paper piecing apart from a 3" Carol Doak heart and small Tool Caddy of her's. Patchwork Sewing and Quilting by hand for 25 years, Machine Embroidery and Pam Bono machine patchwork for last 6 years or so. Now to figure out how to send in a picture of my Sedona Star thus far - please help somebody? I have been a member of Quilters Paradise for some years now and know my way around their site but not the TQS site.

Hi Leslie, I will be doing the Sedona star also. I have printed out the templets, pick out my fabric and about to cut the binding. I do have questions though. Will have month one done this week. I love the block of the month concept. I try to have it done before the month is over. This is my first quilt from the BOM from The quilt show.
