PS - I asked my husband to pick and he said to 'make them both'!

Ok, so your probably sick of seeing my design by now but - taking Renanta's comments into consideration, I adjusted the contrast slightly on the original design, created my palette, and picked fabrics using Thousands of Bolts color picker.

Just wondering what anyone thinks - I tried to keep the fabrics very simple since there seems to be a lot of applique to add interest.

      Advice would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks!

I absolutely LOVE this one! There is a certain sparkle to it (and now you won't have to make two of them... ). Also, thank you for mentioning the color picker in Thousand Bolts. I was not aware of it and will check it out. Three days to Sedona Star 2012 BOM!

Green is my favorite color anyway, but I love this bolder, brighter version!

Just saw inthe BOM 2012 section that the No Color CorelDraw X4 file (for use with Bernina Embroidery Software) or CorelDraw Graphics has just been uploaded for our use. This is an opportunity to load some of the fabrics into the no color file and see how Sedona Star 2012 might look with our fabric selections.

Renata; It looks like it's just for the Bernina software. I did find some good stash that might work with this, so I will just wait and and see how the real pattern looks when it gets released. I can always make two!

                  Hi, Sherie!
Just wanted to let you know I was able to open the file in CorelDraw without opening Bernina V6 software. When I opened the file, I went to the bottom of the screen and clicked on page 2. This gave me the no-color version of Sedona Star. Then I went to Object Properties, Fill Type: Pattern Fill. I clicked on the second icon under the words Pattern Fill (which is a full-color patter fill) and then clicked on Advanced. There I loaded my fabric by going to the file where I had stored my scanned fabrics either as .png or .jpg files.

I'm so happy that you found a stash that is likely to work well for you. I suspect that, even though I will get a pretty good idea through CorelDraw as to whether my fabrics will work together, I am certain that I'll be mixing and matching with the actual fabrics as I build my blocks. That said, I really like what CorelDraw provides because I don't visualize final results very well in my head.
                  Best,
                  Renata

TWO!! LOL. Is your husband willing to buy the fabric for both of them?

I got rid of the husband, long story, so I can do whatever I want.

I am just now trying audition colors. This is real hard for me as color selection is not one of my better gifts. Thanks for to those that have posted their ideas. I have now ventured into Corel draw with an attempt at deciding color choices today wish me luck

                            Sarah :-)
Sarah - I have the Bernina Software Version 5. Do you know by chance if I can use the Corel Draw version with my Version 5? I have been trying to download it and use it with my software, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it successfully.

                            Thanks for your help!!!

                              Mary Kay,
Don't know for sure whether Sarah's file will work in V5. However, this is what I did in V6 to bring it in (in case it's different from what you tried:

Right-click on Sarah's CorelDraw file and click on Save Target as and save it wherever you want to. Once you have saved the file, in your library, right-click on the file name and select extraction (because Sarah's file is compressed). Once you do that, you will see a file called "content." Click on it and then click on riffData. riffData is the file you want to open once you are in V5. Get out of your file library.

Now, open your V5 software. Go to Art Canvas, click on File, then click on Import and find riffData, click on it and it should come into Art Canvas. On page 1(see bottom of the screen in V5), you will see Sarah's colored version of Sedona Star. If you click on page 2, you will find the no-color version.

Hope this helps. Perhaps worth a try while waiting for answer back from Sarah.
                              Renata

Corel draw came as part of version 6, so I'm pretty sure you can't use it in version 5.
