It works GREAT for foundation piecing! I wouldn't want to tear it away, however.

I used it for a crazy quilt that I made using silk neckties. The silk was really flimsy without some kind of stabilizer, and the Stable Stuff was the perfect foundation. I left it in the project and when washed, it was soft, but had some body. It also helped stabilize the decorative stitches I added to all of the seams. Because my blocks were 8"x8" I was able to print out the different block designs on my printer to make quick work of the crazy blocks!

Try it! You will like it!

Perfect! That's what I was hoping. I planned to leave it on the back of the piece. Ricky said it gets like a used kleenix, (I suspect a clean, used kleenix! Ewwww!) Your silk crazy quilt is beautiful! You are so helpful Margo, thank you.

Jo Jo, I am really looking forward to seeing what you came up with!!! I am so glad you are going forward with the holly/poinsettia block. I'm guessing that is still what is in your center block, since you mentioned berries. I love a mystery. I have all of my Stable Stuff templates cut, and about a third of them have the fabric glued on. I'm begining to see a very colorful picture forming! Fun! Fun! Fun!

Look what I found in my stash! Maybe I will join you in making a Christmas wall quilt. By replacing the applique and the basket blocks with fussy cut motifs it will go a lot faster. I've already figured out the block sizes needed to make it work which will make a finished quilt about 46" square if I add all of the borders. And the fabric has lots of color choices besides red and green, including black, brown, blue, and gold. I'm sure I can find lots of scraps of these colors in my stash. Thanks JoJo and the rest of you for the inspiration.

That is a wonderful find! Isn't it great to find treasures hiding in your own stash. Wow, it is going to be great fun watching all these quilts come together in 2011.

Dawn, you are going to be the first one done with the center block! Can't wait to see your block done with all those happy colors.

Jo Jo, are you kidding? I'm hand quilting this whole picture! And, my middle name is Slow! I'm just hoping to be able to keep up with everyone! And, did you know the line of fabric that I chose is called "Happy?"

And, Annis, I love your Christmas find! Everyone's quilt is going to be so creative and different.

You guys are so frustrating, just when I was really not going to do the BOM 2011, you have sucked me in, in a good way. I think I will do a Christmas wallhanging and regular size in other colors, but don't know yet. Next week all the Christmas fabric will be on sale and the LQS. That's what I get for reading this thread. LOL

Happy Holidays to all of you dear friends.

I'm going to do it too, just don't know which colors to choose. I will go at my own pace too, so it might not be finished in a year! I just love the yellow in the original but now seeing the other colorways, am not at all sure which way to go. Kathy
