                  What type of appliqué are you thinking about. I did raw edge machine and used the button hole stitch, went quickly.

                      Possibly needleturn or maybe even eppIf I can track down enough suitable paper. Unfortunately my machine doesn't do a button hole stitch and I don't like/care for machine satin stitch and I'm not too sure of raw edge for myself either - I'm something of a traditionalist in my tastes for the most part.

                      PS before you dismiss the idea of epp have a look at this http://www.quiltmuseum.org.uk/collections/heritage/all/1700-1740/1718-coverlet.html which is all epp.
