My finished Mystery Quilt top which I

named Covid 2020, It’s for the Birds. Note the birds scattered throughout, Tula Pink fabric. Also has three large stars. A careful blending of Kaffe and Tula fabrics form a border collague, with a narrow green polka dot inner border to accent the green collors and relax the eyes. To say the least, doing this top challenged my creativity, color sensitivity, and sanity! Now on to doing ruler work quilting to finish the quilt..

I finished the top - It's a mystery to me - Something's Fishy. This quilt has a first for me, only a border on three sides, top, bottom and left. That way I could finish the fish. It was a fun hand-piecing project. I have not worked with solids before. For that matter, I have not worked with quite so many colors before either. I have become a little more comfortable with pink, though it is still not my favorit color.

Had fun select the solid colors based on the Kaffe fabric and was amazed when I set those blocks how well they played with their neighbors.

My quilt is set on it's left side even though it was taken right side up.

Finished I think. Debating on reducing the white border.

Finally got it finished. Decided to quilt it with a simple stipple (meander) since the quilt is quite busy. I don't know if it was the right choice or not but it is finished. Ready to learn more from Alex when we do the basket project. Thanks again, Alex, for your teaching and leadership.

Thank you, Alex. I have learned so much. I used the color wheel & Kaffe fabrics to learn how and why colors combinations work and don’t work, my accuracy has improved, and I made and used a design board. The layout was a struggle. It is a good thing I am not a perfectionist or it would never have gotten done. Looking forward to the Basket Puzzle quilt but will be using fabrics from my stash.
