Originally posted by SewdreamyAnne, I would not like to do without my Electric Quilt. If you can, I encourage you to get it. It takes all the math fear out of making quilts. I used it for my storm at sea wave, using Carol Doak's paper piecing method and one of EQ's blocks. I use it to help me figure out how to quilt things, make pictures of my quilt designs, and figure out color choices.
I'm so happy to see so many of my TQS buddies respond to my initial question. It's like a party. 8)

As for me, I've have traveled even more than usual the first half of this year, both for business and for out-of-state aging parent issues. Although I check in on the Forum almost every day, my own quilting time has been limited. Since it is my therapy I was starting to get pretty wigged out so (yes, I am going to admit it) I just recently started the BOM. I have January almost done~ I need to get some practice time in on blanket stitching the letters before it is completed. I moved on to February and have 2 of the 3 blocks completed...except for the blanket stitching. Business travel is over at the end of July, so then it will be full steam ahead with the BOM and completion of a couple of UFOs. I promise "house blocks" will be a priority whenever it is decided when, where, how, and what. The "why" we all know; it's the sense of community we get from TQS.

You turn your back a few hours and see how many pages were posted. I loved to see all the beautiful quilts and to hear how busy you all are. This is the best community!
I have done smaller things but suddenly remembered the quilt for my niece's daughter. I had to make a very quick one to be able to do it, so I used Joe Cunningham's Craftsy Class as the starting point.
Here it is
The back is a soft fleece also in purple.

Congrats Pat! Love that darling for us. I feel that I haven't accomplished much. I have been trying to get one of the past BOM quilts quilted--doesn't seem like I am progressing very well. I also am working on this year's BOM. I tried to pickup some knitting I was doing last summer, and wouldn't you know it, I can't figure out what to do next so I stuck it back in the bag. I was too tempted to rip it out and start over so it was best to walk away. Margo, your quilts are wonderful and I would never have guessed they were yours, the colors were quite different from what you usually use. Glad you got your mojo back. BJ--lovely little quilt. I know many have gone to FB and like many have said here--I have just about had it with FB even though I don't spend that much time on it. I think I have, what I call, the "blah-humbugs". Just feel "blah". So, I am living vicariously through you ladies.

Well, ho ho ho! Had to laugh, as I'd forgotten to check here, and don't usually post unless something makes a question. BUT do read often!
I've been busy quilting! I began this quilt in about 2008 with a few scraps of fabric and an article in something like PARADE magazine. I know. Crazy. Anyway, every few months (or years) I'd pick it up for a traveling project and finally decided it was time to finish some tops (so I could begin new ones.) After some challenges selecting the polka-dot border, and doing machine buttonhole around the outer hexie border, it is in the finishing stages. The back is the repository of bunches of hexie flowers randomly placed, and scrap strips of fabric (also colorful) so I'm pleased with the end product. That's what counts. And guess what, i have hexies left.............along with lots and lots of scrap fabric..........
And it's been fun! Was laid out for about 6 months with back injury at Christmas. You know, 70 year old ladies shouldn't fall down stairs at daughter's house. Finally had some plastic pumped into a compressed vertebrae and made a big difference!!!! Yes, PUMP ME UP!!!

Love the hexies, Lynn! I've been working on a hexi quilt of my own. It's a charm quilt (hopefully, a double could slip in since it's hard to keep track of the fabrics) of 1.5" hexis that I started several years ago. I just went back to it recently because I needed some handwork and I've been making some good progress lately. But it'll take a while to finish since my plan is for a queen-size quilt. I'm never one to go half-way the first time I try something!

I use the Klutz Glove, and believe me, I am a klutz. I think it has saved me more than once from bleeding all over my fabrics, not to mention having to get some of the wrong kind of stitching done. Hope you heal up quickly and can get back to quilting.
