Ok, I did it, I ordered an accuquilt go!

I did a lot of Internet hunting around to find what seemed the best deal and I ordered myself an Accuquilt Go! and several of the die sets that can be used for this year's BOM. I haven't gotten it yet. I think this is really a direction I never expected to go, because as my friends here know I am NOT a traditional quilter. Still, I do have traditional elements in some of my work and I also think there are certain shapes.that I use, or will use, more than one might think. I also have recently developed some designs for some not-yet-started quilts that will benefit from some accurately cut shapes, especially if I use them to build a good pieced background like some of the award winning art quilters do or to add an interesting border. This whole thing is pretty expensive, so I hope I really get a lot of use out of this.

Wow! Hope you enjoy it. You will have to keep us posted with your resulting quilts. This is on my 2012 to do list..

I just got mine for Christmas and I love it WAY more than I ever expected!! I was pushed over the edge with being able to use it on my BOM this year. But I have SO many dies now and just love finding another one I need. It is alot more fun than I ever thought.

BJ, just remember, you can't take it with you so you may as well spend it while you still can Enjoy it because you earned.

Thanks! I will keep you posted on how it goes. Since my retirement at the end of last year I feel kind of like a kid who just got out of school for summer break and has a bunch of new toys to play with. But the great thing is, my summer break doesn't end in the fall.

Betty Jo, Like you, I didn't think I wanted one. Haven't decided to buy one, yet. I will be very interested in what you have to say about it and how you put it to use. Lois

I love my Go! Baby so much I now wonder why I didn't spend a few dollars more to get the bigger Accuquilt Go! I'll bet it won't take you long to wonder how you did without it, Betty Jo. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I started with the GOBaby and after one project, I had to purchase the larger GO. I love them both! I'm lining up more projects and can't wait to finish my SOTTs HST quilt so I can start the 2012 BOM.

I got mine last year and didn't use it until last month. I've made a couple of quilts and it does make the cutting go faster. Now, if we could just get it to do the sewing....

I borrowed a GO from ladyquilter and was addicted. I cut lots of hexagons and one day, I'll sew them. But, in the meantime, I'm trying to figure out how I can budget for one of these machines. . . NEVER would I have thought I could have been hooked by this tool!!!

I still haven't gotten mine yet, but I got a notice that it has been shipped, so not long to wait now.

Hooray my accuquilt came yesterday just in time. It's my birthday present to myself (today). I also got a small stack of dies, but I failed to get the right sized cutting mats...I have those on order. I might make a quick little quilt or bag or something next week to try it out.
