I tried pdquilt's link. (the first response to my quest.) While it is not what I remembered seeing originally I think I can use one of the patterns shown at this site with a flap. I can probably adapt it to what I want.

By golly Barbara you hit the "jackpot." That is indeed the pattern I saw.It wasn't on the blog after all. That's what happens when the brain gets old. Being cheap I will probably still go with one of the free patterns mentioned above. Thanks to you all for your help.Comment

Happy to help! At least now you know where to go if your other choice doesn't work out. It just so happened that I just got my Keepsake Quilting catalog in the mail and saw the pattern. I remembered reading your post and thought it might be an option for you. It's great that it was the very pattern you were looking for. Now you can stop wondering where you saw it, at least. :-)
