Today I printed out the fabric for my FIL's future wife's "welcome to the family" quilt. It came out great!

I finished my round robin Crazy quilt block yesterday. And I got 5 pieces sewn on my while I'm in the car or waiting quilt today. This is a foundation pieced quilt. My foundations are printed on muslin and I sew it all by hand.

I was able to get more quilting done on my bed quilt, and it is a little over 2/3rds done. Today I need to make a trip to JoAnnes for needles. Theres a sale on notions so its time to refill my supplies.

Then I 'll be back to my room for more quilting. Well, atleast thats the plan. 17 yr old home sick and 14 yr old will be home early because it is finals for the first half of the school year. Cheryl

I had a great day today, it was my small quilting group's meeting/workday and I got a lot done. I took the blocks for a BOM that we started in my small guild in 2007. Finally figured that I just might have enough fabric to do the whole quilt in the fabrics I used. got the center pieced, and the whole quilt laid out , did part of the sashings, cut out all the corner stones and shashings. Pinned everything on a piece of felt, to bring home without messing anything up. It feels good to have something almost finished.

Yea, got to do some sewing today. I went to quilt bee and sewed on three logs on the quilt I'm fixing. It is my Friday project to do at bee.

I did a little sewing yesterday, piecing on 2 rows of a One Block Wonder quilt and cutting out the 4- patch posies that I'll use for the border.

My DH had me using the embroidery machine. It's his dream to digitize an actual sports logo to sew on a shirt. He does the computer part and I do the sewing part! After 3 tries, something is still not right. Practice, practice! That's why we stitch samples first.

While babysitting the Emb. machine, I looked at my shelf of books and magazines and decided it was silly to keep all the American Quilter magazines I've ever gotten. Most of them are great to look through, I really like seeing the winners of the big shows, but few have much that I need to keep. I tore out an occasional pattern or quilting design and put the rest in recycling.

I plan on setting up some binders with plastic sleeves to keep the patterns and designs. Each binder can be a separate category such as "applique", "Christmas", "kids", "quilting designs", etc. It will really help when trying to find something. I intend on going through all the other magazines I have as well.

Felt like a productive morning! Brrrr, cold today in Western NY

I didn't actually sew yesterday, but was productive in finding my BOM fabric on sale . Well atleast I have the basics except for the background. I plan to get that tomorrow. Cheryl

I got two borders put on soon to be finished quilt. The outer border is pieced and I've never done one of those, so, am sure it will take some time and patience. I am almost done with the piecing. I also cut out and started another feather star. I can't believe I am doing it, but this idea just kept popping up in my thoughts and I just couldn't ignore it any longer. It will not be full quilt, probably small wall hanging. I am using some of my batiks. Sandi in FL

I'm quilting my challenge for the guild. That has been my focus for this month. The quilt must be finished with a label and sleeve by 2/13. Making progress and look forward to being finished by the end of the month. . . .fingers crossed!! Terry

I came home with my new sewing machine and have been playing all weekend.. ... Just trying out all the features. I did make up the mock up boarder / sashing technique we are planning to use for our group's charity quilt. But mostly I just played and played all day.

I spent all day yesterday putting together the sections of the feathered star. I didn't get to putting them together and so nervous after all that work that they won't fit together. I was so, so careful which is my 2009 resolution -to sew more accurately. But boy am I slow. Slower than before which I didn't think was possible lol!

One UFO quilt top done. Last week I decided that I need to see if I have enough fabric left from the blocks for a Square in a square BOM that my friend designed for our small guild in 2007. I had all the blocks done using fabrics from my stash. Luck was with me, I had enough fabrics left to do the setting with all the borders. I put the last two borders on today. I will see about a picture so I can post it. I am pleased with it, and happy that one less UFO in my quilting stash.

Patty your one step ahead of me. I finally found background fabric yesterday, so today I hope to wash everything and start cutting. Cheryl

I've had my BOM feathered star pieces all cut and ready to sew together for a week now--I just need some TIME!!! I'm using Marsha McCloskey's method from her book on feathered stars. All of my tiny half-square triangles are sewn, cut with the Bias Square ruler and ready to go. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Sue's video on paper piecing is really good, but I already had my block ready to sew.

I had such high hopes of getting to sew on my new machine yesterday... they were so cruelly DASHED as I got home from work... NO ELECTRICITY, NO HEAT, NO PHONE .... NONE FOR 12 HOURS.

NOT only that I missed my favorite TV SHOW ...NCIS.... bummer, bummer...

That was the last chance I had to sew til Saturday.... I have classess and meetings the rest of the week.
