Played a big more with the bow-tie blocks; took a photo and sent it to the block's owner for approval to sew the blocks together. Got together some fabrics for some blocks to put into a top---I'll be excited to get the blocks out of the UFO basket. Wrote some script for a trunk show I'm giving at retreat. In the beginning phase of drafting a short feather border for a table runner that I'm working on. Making good progress and it helps to check in with this thread! Terry

I finally have something to report other than 'still quilting the Big Red Quilt'. I am binding the 'Big Red Quilt'. I have attached the binding and have one side blind stitched to the quilt and now busy securing the quilting thread before trimming the seam allowance on the other three sides.

I have spent the last 5 to 7 days designing the border for my Agape Bella quilt. After trying some conventional borders with different block designs, I went a completely different direction and came up with something Rhapsody-esque. I found the winner! Now to draw full size patterns and start the construction. Maybe I will be starting the quilting by December! YEAH! Mary Kay

Finished the free motion quilting in the border of the Christmas table runner this morning. I sewed it entirely on my Singer Featherweight which was amazing in itself! I quilted the border with a fan design that I actually drafted--thanks, TQS and Alex, I wouldn't have tried drafting a feather before watching Alex do it.

Will try to get a picture of it later today posted on my blog.

Morning Quilters, heading out to New Hampshire today. Going to the Gathering with my guild. I have been looking forward to some relief for so long. Be Freee, Be Freee!!!!  I will be taking lots of pictures for myself so I can store lots of ideas for quilting patterns. You ladies look at the quilts, I look at the quilting. 8) It's 5:30, I have been awake since 1:00 am, I just get so excited when I am going to a quilt show.
Oh yeah, I finnished the binding on the quilt for the wedding gift. Now I have to do the Label.
Hopefully, I can get some of the fabric I want. I want to make a Laurel Burch fancy jacket for the holidays  . In my free time, yea right.
              Have a nice day! Debbie

Sewed a few blocks of the bow tie quilt together today. . .I think the sashing at an inch finished is too wide for the 5 inch finished block. Sigh. . .I will have some ripping to do. I think I will look at the sashing finished at 3/4 inch. . . but, I bet what I will like best will be sashing finishing at 1/2 inch. I will rip when I get back; because today I also packed for a sewing retreat. My projects and supplies are packed by the door. . .just need to pack my clothes. . Isn't that a hoot that the sewing supplies/equipment rate so much higher than personal items! Looking forward to making progress on the bargello and chicken projects. I'll report when I return.

PLAYING HOOKEY.... can you see my happy dance???

I have a new JD Robb book so I am going to read that....

I am thinking of driving over to OVID MI to my friends new quilt shop to see what she has there.

Quilt wise I am learning how to do Eleanor Burns Flying Geese Blocks from her old DVDs so I can teach our Gathering group for our December B.O.M. I already made several blocks using the method. At this rate I will have a whole quilt just of flying geese inspired blocks.

Bummer... I just remembered I am going to have to clean my bedroom closet... I promised hubby I would cull the stuff I no longer use so he could have a little space... I do not know why he wants to hang up his winter coat...

                    Have a happy QUILTING DAY!!

Oh, Anna, I love J.D. Robb books. Finally back at quilt bee today. Got four logs sewn on and a fifth one started. They are all on the same block so it went faster because I didn't have to sew down all four sides of the log because I will be sewing the next block over the first one I sewed on. I'm working a lot in the next couple of weeks. Last night was the dress rehearsal of the opera and tonight is a show in the small theater with a reception afterward from 10 to midnight. Going to be a long day today. Then if I remember correctly, the opera again on Saturday night.

I gave myself permission ot spend my whole day in my studio today. Go me! I spent about 10 hours in my happy place. I decided I wanted to do a traditional quilt, so I'm making a two color quilt with a shoe fly block. Got half the blocks pieced and pressed. DH doesn't know it but it's his Christmas present! Don't tell him!

I have the bow tie blocks together in a top! It is ready for borders so that will be the next journey to try to find fabric that will compliment the blocks for the borders. Terry

NO actual sewing done but went to a quilt shop in Ovid.... bought some Christmas fabric for my stash. I plan to lay out my blocks and figure how I am going to set them this week.

I also have two baby quilts that need quilting. ... although I might take them to a long armer... Hey .... for my grandson I should just fork over the money.... he is worth it.

I also think I need to get back to my stain glass quilt. ... it is calling my name. I like it because it will be mindless sewing right now.

MY hubby is in Florida, fishing and I am playing hookey ( legally from work) I planned to quilt while is gone but so far THINGS KEEP GETTING IN THE WAY. ... but as Scarlet always said... THERE IS ALWAYS TOMORROW.

I actually got to do a bit of quilting this week. I had a short Thurs for a change and got home early enough to play. I started cutting some strips I had started Sat in a class for a one block wonder quilt. I also worked on binding my valor quilt til my eyes got to tired. Happy quilting. Sandi in FL

The quilting is pretty much done on the adoption quilt. just need to put the binding on, and wait for information on the label.. I was thinking about a photo on fabric with adoption and birth dates included in information. Now I had someone ask me about making full size wedding ring quilt. Told her it would be expensive, but would look into it for her. Maybe I'll overprice and if they accept, then good for me. If not, even better. Cheryl
