Hey Liiddz, thanks soooooooo much for suggesting the needles. I have been able to work in the quilt for 6 hours (with a few rests) and had only to change the needle once. That was because I forgot that I had a single hole plate and switched the setting to 1/4 ". But even then it didn't break, but had a pretty good bend in it. Most deffinately worth the extra .20 cents a needle.

As for the quilt, the center is all done except for a small part in one of the corners. Then it is just do the border, bind and label.

THanx again, CHeryl

Cheryl, it's so great to hear of your progress, don't forget to post pix when done. Currently, I had a stop in my quilting, the thread started breaking. checked the tension, changed the needle new spool of thread and nothing. I think my machine is being cranky and wants a checkup.

UGH!!!!!! It would only take 1-2 bobbins and the quilt would be done. Well, now my bobbin winder has broken and I only have 2 weeks before the graduation. I hope my machine tech can do a rush job. In the mean time I have my daughters little White machine without a walking foot., but atleast it can wind a bobbin.

I have been working on the BOM for June I have all the HST done, and all 4 border blocks laid out to put together.
I also have been working on my Dear Jane quilt. I have 3 blocks for row-B done and the 5th triangle finished.

Well, my machine is back home and now I can get this quilt done for graduation. My tech said its a poor design for the bobbin winder on my viking. luckily I didn't have to wait for a part to come in. "THANKS PETER"...

YEAY!!!!! Orca quilt is done and I will post a photo in a moment. Mighty nice looking if I don't say so myself,,, and OH I did, :-) ..

Now I have washed it and it is in the dryer. I know what you are probably thinking, but with an almost college teen, it would be nice for it to fall apart now rather than when he is in Maine and washing it for the first time. He won't fallow the wash cold hang to dry instructions. Might as well see what will happen now while I can still fix it. BTW the metallic thread held up really well to the hot iron while putting on the binding, so I think it will be okay. Graduation Thursday, UGH... DH in denial.. Maybe I am a little also.

And now onto the memory quilts I was commissioned to make.

thanks Julie, The quilt did just fine on normal washing, so I guess its safe to hand over.

I blogged a few days ago about working on a double wedding ring quilt. Paper piecing the arcs is a breeze! Thought I'd try putting a couple of arcs together with the football shapes. Hmmmm. This is so not gonna work for me. So I revised the pattern and took most of the day to come up with a new plan. I think I have it figured out! I'm making square blocks and using applique for the arcs. Got the idea from a webshots page. Wish me luck!
