   Pat, you are so funny. I only allow myself to go up to about 35,000. It is addictive. You have to go back. Just set a timer and record your points and see if you can best it next time. I don't do that but it seems like a good idea. Of course, you can't quilt but you can watch the O games. Judy in AZ

I feel for you and have the same problem...I start reading this forum, checking folks profiles/quilts, following up on blogs and links......and before you know it the moring and/or afternoon that I had wanted to use sewing is gone! RATZ! I am going to try to set a time limit for myself for the computer. Like an hour for initial check in early am (emails and "must see" sites) with a timer set to try to keep me honest. Then a couple of peaks in at lunchtime and late afternoon break time. I better set that timer for those too or time will get away from me. I already feel withdrawal symptoms setting in just thinking about doing this! ARRGG! Sally in NE Ohio (stepping away from the laptop to get on with her life...looking back sadly)

Another rainy day in central Arkansas (it is unbelievable the number of cool and rainy days we've had- in August!!!) so I had a time to devote to sewing. Got a lot done- I had wanted to get 1 block per day done. Each block is made up of 4 smaller (6") blocks and I made 16 of those yesterday- all of one corner of each block. Today I decided I was going to practice chain peicing so I sewed all of piece one and 2 together from all of the remaining small blocks and pressed the seams- ready to sew peice 3 on tomorrow. I also squared up the small blocks I finished yesterday.
I don't know why I procrastinate sewing when I have such a good time when I do it. Maybe because I am so new to this that it is just beginning to be more fun than frustration.

This was a more productive day. I'm now on the last 8 blocks of the quilting on that Quilts for Heroes quilt. I also got two twin-size backings ironed with lots of spray sizing, and one quilt top, will try to get one more top ironed tonight so I can get them both basted tomorrow. I did NOT play Bookworm, LOL. I can't believe how much time I spent on that yesterday!

I got a bit done over the weekend. Ironed, starched and cut fabric for 4 more blocks for my blue/white wall hanging. I also worked on my machine applique. I have the large sunflower to do and then the leaves and then it will be ready to sandwich and quilt. I didn't realize how long it took to go around each little petal!! It has been a fun learning experience.

I played Bookworm AND almost completed my hand applique block for my BOM, fused down another block and thought it looked pretty good only to discover that it should have been on point. Oh, well, I will put it on the back. I don't know what I was thinking about. Maybe Bookworm. Judy in AZ

DO THE SEWING FIRST AND USE COMPUTER TIME AS A REWARD FOR ACCOMPLISHMENT.....
Make small breaks in your sewing time and set a clock for when you use the computer.... (in another room) when the clock rings .. get off the internet collection and sew some more....

I ended up with the afternoon off work today as I was feeling punky.... So I took a long nap then went out to the mail box and had great surprise. The DVD I ordered last seek... Kool Kaleidoscopes was in the box. I also got the free DVD from Fons and Porter GONE APQS QUILTING it is an infomercial but it is really great. They demonstrated all kind of techniqes and free information that could be applied to home quilting. They showed the GEORGE mid arm... I would love one of those... I know exactly where I would put it in my house. $$$$$
I watched the K.K dvd now I wam going to watch Grand Finale... sometimes it is OKAY to have the DH working evenings.... I get control of the DVD player and the remote control....

I got some quilting related stuff done today finally. I washed and pressed 10 half-yard cuts of fabric for my next take along quilt. Since I am doing a demo on foundation piecing by hand at the show at the end of next month, and I finished my last project at the beginning of this year, I need to get started on my next one. So I got the fabric pressed and numbered so I remember which one is which. Then I got 12 muslin pieces ironed to freezer paper so I can run them through the printer. I eventually need 30 of them. So maybe tomorrow I can get some of those printed and get started on sewing them so I have something to show.

Well, an hour here and there, I have been able to get half of the trapunto done. Kyle was off to school today at 6:40 AM and Melissa will be starting tomorrow at about the same time. WOW it is going to be really quiet early in the morning. THen I should be able to do some marathon quilting and get this baby done.
ON a side note my Son passsed his written test for his license and has his appointment for the driving portion in Oct.
It's a beautiful day here in Ct. CHeryl

Well, I am back to work, have way to much work to do. I have however set up projects for me to cut, I think I made up 10 new packages to cut and sew. Hopefully next week I can start. I cut everything out at once, so I can sneek a day here and there to sew . I'm 3 days behind because I had to unsew four blocks because the tension on the back was waaaaaaay ooffffff  believe you me I am the master of unsewing, four blocks -three days of ripping. l am on my way again, though. hopefully no more set backs. Keep sewing ladies. Debbie
Cheryl, I see you don't live to far from me. Do you go to any quilt guilds around here. I live in jewett city. Wow. Debbie

Yesterday was good--I finished quilting the Quilts for Heroes quilt and got the binding on, so it's ready to go to a wounded soldier when our group takes a batch to the VA hospital or Fort Hood or wherever they decide. Today I really need to start on quilting another of the twin size Quilts for Kids ones.
