Frances - when you say for crumb blocks you "use scraps to make fabric..." what does that mean. I can't quite envision what you mean but it sounds interesting. Mary

I sewed yesterday on my longarm. Great thing is-I worked on my own piece!!!
I wrote about it over in the Artist's Way forum and posted a link to the pic of the quilt I'm working on. I'm hoping to get more of it done today.

      Hi Eileen,
Yes I take Rte 84. My sister lives in Milford Pa just past Port Jervis NY over the border. I went to school in PJ. My parents live in Westbrookville and my inlaws are in Middletown.

This weekend is "Milford Days" they have venders out in the streets with bands playing at various locations. Some good, some not so good. Laura and I helped work on the quilds raffle quilt and to sell tickets. We were there for a few hours and I got quite a few needles sewn by hand. It was a lot of fun. I am not a member, but when in town I get to participate in thier functions through Laura. THey are a great group of ladies and a lot of fun.
After working on the quilt we refreshed ourselves with Margaritas. YUM!!!

I head home tomorrow, back to the everday life of running kids around.

OMGosh!! Call me another one asleep at the wheel. Bridget I literally laughed out loud at your post about the definition of "Tilda". When I first started reading I also was trying to figure out the words that would fit the letters....but I have to admit I sure wasn't as clever as you. LOL LOL
Now that I finally read past the first page and I 'get it' I've decided to start tracking my progress too. Maybe between this thread and the Artist Way (if my book ever gets here) I'll get more energized.

So .... Yesterday I focused on hand work. I finished the 15th block of my rendition of a Baltimore. One more block to go and I started it last night. I still haven't settled on the 'just right' sashing that I want to do yet. I've played a bit in EQ6 but I just can't find the correct design. I didn't do any sewing on my machine yesterday. I have been working on a drunkards path for my DDL using the 3.5 blocks set in a four-patch design. 288 of those little buggers to cut and sew!! I'm now setting the rows together and have only 5 more rows to set. I'll work on it a bit today after going out to have coffee on my patio so I can enjoy the cool day we're having. 71 degrees at 10:00 am.

Ilove the drunkard path pattern but I don't know about that small of a block with it. I am sure it will look great but right now I would not have the patience. So my hats off to you.
Ann I grew up in a family full of contractors by the way. I know how to do it all. From sheet rock to roofing. We just don't have the money right now. That and I don't have the strength, or patients. Believe me if I had my way things would be done and he wouldn't be able to stop me. I would just buy more tools.
Yesterday I ironed everything Now I am on to cutting.

Yesterday I went shopping for a new sewing machine Didn't buy yet, I want to take my time and be really sure. This one will cost a bit more. I cannot afford top of the line, but want a few more bells and whistles to play with! Of course, I bought fabric so got that washed yesterday and have started cutting that this afternoon. Its going to be for quilts for valor and will be in the yellow brick road pattern. Sandi in FL

This is kind of a cross post as I posted the same message in the my BORDER THREAD..... I found by posting my progress in this TILDE THREAD you ladies have kept me on task... I have even started working on another stalled quilt... I have been so inspired by everyone..

              Thank you all

I finished the quilt top... YEAH... I tried to get a good picture but the wind is blowing too hard... after the third time the quilt stand fell on my head I gave up. If it is pretty out tomorrow I will try again to get a picture otherwise it is off to the quilters as soon as I can get it there.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I end up using red corner stones because I once again was short of the black Kona fabric ( I had taken it from another project and I need to have enough to finish that project. ) I will hand applique the motifs when I come back from the quilters. I will also do some emboidery in gold metallic thread to give it a polished look.

It took 40 hours of real actual sewing and unsewing time to finish the quilt. I kept a log during the entire process.

Hopefully no one but me and the internet will know that I goofed.

              Thanks for all the input

                  MIRACLE

I actually made sewed for 4 hours today... 2 hours this morning attaching my borders then another 2 hours pressing blocks from the quilt I had put away and is now wrinkled and then sewing on 30 blocks.

I also played on EQ6 to plot out the size of the quilt and playing with color. I started the blocks but I never colored the quilts with my colors on EQ6... This quilt will be a total surprise.

Debbie - we like to hear when anyone had time to accomplish something. Your white whole cloth quilt is wonderful. I am back on my son's Mariner Compass. Due to a cloth shortage caused by me cutting wrong I am adding a row of flying geese around the center compass. I completed 34 units yesterday and have 55 more to go. And I did my first convergence project which still needs borders and quilting.

Where's this show? I might try to go.

Cheryl, did you go over to Port for the parade on Saturday? Our Boy Scout band was in it and DH was one of the committeemen marching with them. They play glocks and drums.

I'm putting the sleeve on my t-shirt quilt. I'm trying to have some of my own quilts in our show in September, not just customers' quilts.

No, we didin't make it out of Milford.. It seems like every town around had something going on this past weekend. I made it a point to see where your exit is, and I have stopped at that McD's for a potty break a few times.

I hope to get some sewing done today after a trip to Home Depot to look at flooring for the family room. On my way home I stopped off at Ikea to purchase a sofa bed and need to get the floor done before putting the bed together. A little incentive seeing the boxes laying around. I usually need a little something to get me moving on projects like a visual reminder. Otherwise I get distracted in the sewing room. here is the link to the quilt show information.Cheryl

Maybe if I bought a can of paint I would get started painting. Anyway I got about 20 more flying geese units made last night about 40 more to go.

Only if you put the can in the middle of the room. It has to be in an annoying spot.
