    Good luck on this one Pat. It will definitely be a labor of love. I DO agree with the others: new backing and lots of quilting to give it more strength.

        Pat, I hope it all goes well. Sometimes when it seems to be such a challenge, it is more like something we must attempt. I am sure you will make it beautiful again. I hope the owner appreciates all your work, and treasures the quilt. I hope her grandchildren are kept away from it until they are old enough to appreciate it too. And she wants to use it again? I think it would look beautiful in a nice glass quilt case. Folded and safe. I keep my most treasured one folded on the bottom, because my grandchildren sometimes go to get a blanket out to snuggle with. They are not allowed to use my good quilts. :x :x
