      Hey,
Just coming in on this post and wonder if you finished the quilt and do you have pictures of it. I would love to see the finished product.
You were brave to take this on and looks like you did a wonderful job.
amazing what people ask us to do. More amazing is that we say yes!

So true Karen. I made a memory quilt that included jeans with roofing tar on them and another with a wedding dress and t-shirts. I finished it and it turned out pretty nice. I'll post a picture tomorrow when I get on my computer. For everyone's future use, I used 906 pellon fusible interfacing on all the stretchy materials, sewed with 1/2 seams, and used quilters dream poly batting. My neighbor was thrilled with it.

Cheryl, that is very pretty! Love how the blues and pinks work together! At least, they look like blues and pinks from where I'm looking...

Yes, it's blues, pinks and some cream. She had baby blankets from two boys and one girl. I'm really happy how it turned out.

Every challenge is a learning experience that I can use in the future. As long as I remember to make notes :-/

My next challenge might be a wedding dress. My Niece just asked if I could make a quilt using her wedding dress. YIKES! Karen, I think you jinxed me. Had to say " why yes of course". Oh my what did I get myself into now.

I'm scared to cut a dress. Donee it before, but still scared.

But the wedding dress fabric should make an incredible quilt, so I think you'll enjoy it once you get started. Love the baby quilt! You are definitely up to any challenge thrown your way!

Love the quilt and sorry I "jinxed you".
I get "volunteered" for things. I am trying very hard to say NO when I need to. Just stand in front of the mirror and practice.
Mostly it pushes us to try new things, and as we can see you are up to the challenge.

Depending on the style of the dress, could you just use the skirt of it to make a wholecloth centre for the quilt with borders in the brides colours? Also you could applique the front bodice down as is (but i would recommend taking out any boning first, if it was boned  )
