Busting stars look interesting Lotti. Shame you have to unsew but we all do it. The kiddie quilts are fun and the larger scale farm fabrics are really effective.
Enjoy your conference, it may not be much sewing but I'm sure you'll have your camera to give up some snaps. Safe journey

Beverly, you are on a mission! Good for you. It does feel good to have those lovelies finished and used, doesn't it?
Lotti, you have been busy! Your farm animal quilts are so cute. I know the little ones will enjoy them. I've wondered about the elephant pattern. It's nice to see it in progress. Have a great time in New Orleans. Will you be there during Mardi Gras? :silly:
Take care, genevaGeneva

“Busting” star, oh my... just went back and corrected, should have been “Bursting Star” of course.
I will try to get back to that elephant soon, but I did some extra large nine-patches tonight. Hopefully they’ll be turned into a disappearing nine patch quilt top by Sunday night. Better yet - maybe a finished quilt. But as I have to clean, do laundry, pack, organize for my trip - and really should also finally get my income tax forms completed (well, the pile of bookkeeping sorted and the tax forms started) ... not so sure yet where I’ll place my priorities
And because you had trouble recognizing my elephant, I just got out of bed, sewed the last few bits that were ready together and pinned them up. Elephant now has one eye, almost complete trunk and one tusk... there will be more head, ears and the other side - but not before I get back from New Orleans.
Uhm, yes, one idea of moving was that I would have a large sewing room to contain everything in one place... so why have I set up a small ironing table, sewing machine and... in the dining/living room?
...because I have too many things going on at one time, it’s practical, and there’s no one here to complain :cheer: :P  ops:  :silly:
I shall be back :woohoo:

Oops missed the 8th to post but I'm still around. I want to share my illusion quilt but I've a tiny bit left to quilt and then I'll mount it on a stretched canvas which will be easy for my son to hang in his flat.
I've been slowed up by otitis media for a lot of feb so not been achieving a lot really. Having a lot of fun with a facebook group doing a Queen Bee swap. My turn in march and I've had them making me penguin blocks just 4.5" big. It's paper pieced and that's been a learning curve for a few. They are being given names and some are very colourful and one has a bow tie and his wife a tiara, bracelet and necklace. When I have them I'll post a pic to give you a giggle.
Please keep posting I love seeing your work in progress.
Be back with my illusion quilt soon

Hi All from Blizzard Colorado, we are supposed to get 12" today with the nasty wind. The weatherman just said the wind is like a Cat 2 hurricane wind. NASTY!
On the sewing/quilting front I have been working on 6 roman shades for a customer and hope to have them finished by the weekend. This job is definitely making me want to retire from drapery work. With the blizzard I should make good progress today and tomorrow.
My little miniature, Twisting Ribbons, was juried into spring Paducah. Yeah! It is all silk and I had a blast making it, so much so, that I also made one using Cherrywood fabrics (no photo). The silk mini needs a label and, if the roads are good tomorrow, get to Fedex to ship to Paducah.
Have a good week everyone!!

Sharon, Congratulations on your quilt being in the Spring Paducah show! It's a beauty.
Today is the 13th, my day to check in. I wish I could say I've something exciting to show for the last month. I've run down on ideas. I did make a table runner. I don't know why, I suppose just to keep busy. I used a charm pack I found in my stash and added some other fabrics I had on hand. Everything was from my stash which makes me feel good. That Nancy Crow fabric on the back must be 15 years old!
We've had so much snow that we've been house bound for weeks. It is nice, but I did enjoy getting out one day and buying some fabric. Yesterday it snowed another 3-4 inches. We are hoping that maybe that was the last of it. We have a 600 foot long driveway that gets huge snow drifts in certain sections. So we have had 5-6 foot drifts. It's a lot of work for my husband. This area typically doesn't get this much snow or such cold temps. But this year and 2017 were whoppers!
In any case, while I escaped I went to a fabric store and bought some new fabrics to make a little door that I dreamed of. I'm not finished yet. While at the fabric store I bought 4+ yards of a flat fold fabric and made a curtain to hang on my cutting/pressing table. Now all the chaos that I store under the table is out of sight! Yippee! And it gives the room a nicer look. And all for $7.99!
Wendy, I hope you are feeling better soon. I'd love to see your latest piece for your son.
Take care everyone! genevaGeneva

Hi all,
Sorry I missed posting on the 8th, but from the 4th through the 9th, I attended 2 classes at the Academy of Applique in Williamsburg, VA. This is my 2nd year, and I'm hoping to go back for a 3rd next March. Each class is 3 days.
After the academy, we went to Dover, DE to visit friends and just got home last evening.
I took a class from a wonderful teacher from Canada, Kerry Burke of Simple Bird Studio in Barrie Ontario. She taught the prepared edge with starch and press technique. She's great and the camaraderie in the room was amazing! I made new friends and renewed some from last year.
The second class was with Diane Kirkhart, who has worked with Jinny Beyer and now has her own business. She taught the Apliquick technique. Much more intense class than my first one.
I have a project from each class, but haven't unpacked anything yet. I hope I'll have something to show next month.
Keep stitching,
from the beautiful Hudson Valley of NY

Congratulations Sharon!! Hope you’re juried into the show!
Eileen your classes sound neat!! I’ll have to investigate them in the future.
Geneva, I like your fabric choices for your table runner and you shelf fabric curtain too.
Wendy fun to hear about your projects but sorry to hear about your ear problems.
I’ve been goofing off lately nothing quilty on my plate. Have however been looking at My Country Home and imagining it quilted.
