Geneva, I'm glad the yellow poppy didn't materialize because the purple poppy is wonderful! I enjoyed your elephant and the waffle quilting is a terrific solution to all the curves! Thanks for catching us up and I was relieved we didn't get the snow/ice that was forecasted. . .just four inches on ice that lasted for a couple of days. . .yet, my daughter, who lives 25 minutes south of us had nothing!!!!

Geneva, love those projects. both poppy and elephant turned out fabulous.
yes - sometimes if something doesn't wants to get together it's a great idea to approach it from another side.
however, your yellow mess is very inspiring for me - i think i'll have to try a yellow-orange mess one of these days - i absolutely love the california poppy

Geneva i like your yellow mess it would have turned out great. I love your purple poppy though. Did Ruth McDowell do a show i must have a look.
Your square quilting is really effective. I like the idea of two colours, how clever.
And your snow is so beautiful, happy sewing

Today is my day to share what I've been doing in the last month. I posted about what I'm not doing here My granddaughter finished her cross stitch project. It was fun stitching with her!

I spent a lot of time finishing my online mystery quilt that "crocus" initiated way back in 2015. I shared it with a small group and one of my guilds. It will hang at guild quilt show at the end of next month. The posts are: 4th Quilting Step; 5th Quilting Step,6th Quilting Step, the Finish.

I shared two posts about participating in Bonnie Hunter's "Good Fortune" mystery this year. Post 1, Post 2. This will be my take along sewing project. I had fun participating and was sorry when we had the reveal!

My post today was about a Pop-Up I stitched yesterday. This was an easier project to make than I thought it was going to be! As for what I'm working on next. . .well, I've lots of choices. I'll probably stitch a couple outfits for the grand daughters since they showed some interest in a pattern and some fabric that I was gifted. I hope all of you had a nice Valentine's Day and that progress on your projects is moving forward. I'll share a photo of my finished quilt.

Terry, that quilt is wonderful! I especially like the quilting. I downloaded Good Fortune, and even got the paint chips. Alas, I didn't do it.

Thanks, Eileen. I appreciate the thumbs up regarding the quilting. If you read my posts, you will learn how I struggled with what to quilt!! You can do start Good Fortune then at any time! I'm on no timetable to finish my start. Life is great!

Terry, It's so nice to see what you've been doing... and not doing! I can relate to your "not doing" your guild's challenge. This year I felt the same way. I just couldn't get started. Then I realized that I don't have to make anything I don't want to! It was so freeing!

It's nice to see your BOM from Terri all done. I gave mine to my niece and her mom for Christmas this past year. They loved it and I felt good getting another quilt off to a good home.

Have fun with your granddaughters. It's so nice that you are keeping stitching alive for the next generation.

                Take care, geneva

Thanks for your kind reply, Geneva. Yes, it is important to to be stitching projects we want to stitch! I hope my mom likes the BOM from Terri. Finished is awesome!!! As for the granddaughters, I sure am trying to find something in the stitching world that will excite them to want to learn more!

I can’t believe it was a full month ago I posted what was going on in my little corner of the world, but here we are again....

Last night there were tornado warnings and I had to stop in the middle of a decorative stitching on the binding for this quilt. I was able to finish it before bedtime though.

I’ve been up to quite a bit in my sewing and longarm rooms. Lots of charity quilts came in this month to be done for the Royal Family Kids Camp that will happen in early August this year. I’ve put up a new blog post where I recap my entire February. It was a very busy month.

I love your little quilt! It's so simply cute.

I enjoyed your February blog post. You have been busy!

I am so happy to say that I am making progress on my 2019 resolution to complete UFO's! My A-Z for Ewe and Me has been sandwiched and basted by my longarmer, my Red/White/Pink modified Alex Anderson quilt has been longarmed and just needs a label, and I am taking my Edyta Sitar Dresden Bloom to be sandwiched and basted this week. Now on to other UFO's! (and I have way too many - I won't be bored for years! )

I have no idea why one quilt picture was turned sideways and one upside down!

                            Beverly,
Those are beautiful. And having a longarmer that will get things basted for you is such a help.

                              Wow - what wonderful quilts.

I have once again totally missed my date - but I got something done instead.

my colleague had a baby girl in January, she and her husband requested farm animals so...

and my cousin's sons moved to Colombia a while ago and the elder had a baby son last spring. as his brother is now here for a visit he is taking a quilt for his young nephew, Valentin, back with him. I thought farm animals and farm scenes would also be fun for him.

I purchased the Violet Craft pattern for Elephant Abstractions last year. I want to make it for my niece - as I finally decided to do it in the original colors for ther, I got started a couple of weeks ago. Normally I use mainly batiks - using the regular fabrics is something I generally only did for baby/kids' quilts and for backing. the paper piecing for this is great fun - but - my whole apartment is being invaded by tiny little fabric pieces. oh regular cottons do shed something awful. I think I have about one fourth done, but this project will be a long-term one - yes it is fun - but i need to do more mindless stuff in between.

yes - there is a mindless project going on as well - though apparently it is not so terribly mindless as i already managed to sew two star teeth on the wrong way - I love Cloth Parcel's Bursting Star Quilt which Angela Walters introduced a little while ago. as I have a friend who absolutely loves roses and stuff - my version will be mainly pinks with lots and lots of roses. i'll show pictures next time around... at the moment the center star is semi-assembles (as I've taken it apart again) - but all the pieces are waiting in nicely labelled piles (not at all my thing).

next week i'll be going to New Orleans for a week (Cardiology Congress) where we have an exhibition booth. so my march will not be very sewy - but hopefully i get a chance to take a picture or two.
have a great march everyone - yes - i will be lurking
