Are we being given a technique each month to use for our designated person?

Wendy, (Rosemary read second info area before going too far)

No monthly techniques, as everyone has those they are comfortable doing.

Now don't anybody start saying that you want special techniques! It isn't going to be a part of this exchange. We've already got a tremendous amount of 'preferences' for the group, and I'm still getting "change requests". Tonight I'll get the most recent info changes done, then it's wait until I get back from vacation. And then it's only what I get at my yahoo email.
I really hope we can get all changes to those already in the group DONE by November 1st. Then hopefully it would only be the adding of a few late joiners. That's my hope, we'll see how far I get with it!! LOL

      TODAY
      My finish is The Princess,

She is up on the wall already, yeah!!

      Luann
PS I really want to do a good job with our Row exchange and going on vacation while my house is just above the flood waters has me a bit fidgety! I need to go to my room and sew! Yes, that's what I need to do,,,

I am sooooooooooooooo wanting to do this! I have a couple of commitments that might take up most of my time, though. A row every month scares me! But, so many of you participants have become so special to me over the years, that I really want to be a part of this! So, I am giving it some deep thought! Just out of curiosity, how many days do you all think you will spend on each row? I could spend a whole day on one block! But you all know, I have said it before, I work very slowly! Maybe this could teach me time management, and speed me up a bit. Still thinking!!! I'll try to make my decision before Luann gets back from her trip.

Dawn, and others with frequency concerns!
I've had a few people express their concern over duration, monthly, etc etc. let me know, in an email to the yahoo address, what you really wish it would be. I think I'm going to be able to accommodate everyone, even if you are an every other monther! The only catch will be, you won't be able to chose "who" you make for and who gets left out. That would be more than I want to coordinate.
          Just let me know.

Dawn, to me, this quilt is a gift from each of my TQS friends. I expect them to make a row that doesn't stress them out and more than that, be a fun adventure for them. If you want to make me a log cabin block, for instance, you can make say 3 of them and add fabric squares in between the 3 log cabin blocks. Or add pin wheels (half square triangles made quickly and easily.) Also, we can each try something a little different for each friend, making it new and refreshing.

So, relax, and remember what Lotti said "If you can't make a row, send me a 6 1/2" x 36 1/2" strip of fabric!!"

            take care, geneva

Nicely put Geneva, we would do well to remember this as we work out our ideas.

We are about to start a Row by Row Robin. We will be sending a single row out each month, not adding to an existing group of rows. This will save on postage and customs issues.

                Very few rules and guidelines.

Rows are to be 6 1/2" by 36 1/2". These will finish at 6" by 36". A nice size that can have borders added if someone wants their finished quilt to be larger. These are to reflect the recipients requests AND the makers personality. We will each mail our blocks out by the end of the month they are for. If they go sooner, we'll get more eye candy throughout the month!!
If time issues arise, send a strip of fabric rather than drop out, please
After I have rec'd everyone's physical address, theme, color preferences, etc, I will send each participant their individual list of whom they are sewing for on each specific month.

And this goes without saying, but I think it should be stated:
If you get behind, just let us know.
And if life gets too complicated for you to continue, let me know as quickly as you can. I know no one joins this to stop midway thru, but I'm aware that 'life issues' can change our available time.

The next step is to decide on your theme, colors, techniques, type of blocks you like, or anything else you want to share.
Make a list of these. Send it to me, along with your physical address, to my private email, NOT the msg area on this site. I have to be able to cut and paste from it and my iPad doesn't interface here.

                Send that info to
                Luann.fischer@yahoo.com

                Thanks,
                Luann

Rosemary- leaves, not all maple! PLEASE see her posts # 133355 and 133406, to be aware of what she might be up to!! I like the idea,,
Geneva- Flavor of You, batiks preferred, 6" or less by 36"
Lotti- The World Is Bright & Beautiful, enjoy yourself, have fun
Terrie- Home Is Where The Heart Is, COMMENT about blue taken out per Terrie's request.
Luann- my favorite color is 'Rainbow' at least that's what my best friend says,,, Show Me You! Vertical Or horizontal, if making the strip out of blocks, you can send them without joining them, I would be able to use them in the finished design process for corners, etc
Cathy- bright, cheerful, perhaps symbolic to your area of the world, she's easy to please
Andrée- At the Beach, any cheerful colors, please no obviously black backgrounds
Wendy- Flavour of You, would enjoy it to reflect something you've shared with the group, Chinese Whisperer inspired?
Jennifer- trees, or a part there of, or a critter in the tree, be inspired. Not a big fan of civil war or 1920s fabrics
Heather- beach/ocean colors, any style block or row
                Brenda- sun, sand, saltwater
                Kathy- flavor of you
                Barb- flavor of you

And,,,,I will need further info from the following if you decide to join in.
                Idaho ?
                Lois?
                Dawn?

That's where we stand at present
Please check over the information above and let me know if anything is incorrect. Otherwise, I'm figuring we are good-to-go, except to be adding others that may want to join in.

And now to do the laundry and pack my bags for vacation.
May The Holy Spirit keep all of you close to God's plan for your life,

I'd like different widths of rows, 6 1/2, 4 1/2, 3 1/2, 2 1/2... whatever works for whatever blocks or design everyone wants to make. All rows should be 36 1/2" in length.

                  Thanks! I'm so excited!

I'm agree with Geneva. I'd like rows of various widths.

It's hard for me to say what 'colours, but I like spring colours, clear colours, warm colours, happy colours and serene, elegant and classic colours. I also like folkartsy stuff. I also love batiks. How do you put that into a word or two? Something that reflects the warms of a hearth and home?.

PS: "I'm agree" is a phrase frequently used by my students when learning English - They mean " I agree" I love it! (but I don't tell them that!)

I really don't want much, Wendy, just don't know how to say it, or how to say what I don't want. It's vocabulary I lack.

I'm totally in agreement with the different row width, will make it so much more interesting ( i hate things zo be just so - always need to have a bit of an angle - of course being me, things get naturally wonky - think I'm contagious

I like the sound of mixed up row widths as well - although it could play havoc with my sleeves widths  It would certainly work well for the body length.

I think most row quilts I have seen had a variety of widths. ( but I haven't seen millions of row quilts...) Then, if we want, we can put sashing here or there.

I'll happily accept any width as well. I will not be disappointed if they are smaller or larger than 6 inches as long as you are happy with it too!
