Rosemary really like your miniature in the 'Diamonds are forever' Challenge, the blue/white floral, the mini pineapple, the mini stars and the mini medallion. I bet it was a fun show. Thanks for posting!

Sending everyone some fresh mountain air, wide open space and loads of energy from today's outing...

And just because it's fun, the cowbell lift... One of the ski lifts not used in summer - they hang cowbells on it and let it run a few times every day - great country chimes - at 2000 m above sealevel :

Nice quilt Rosemary, I was there yesterday but didn't find you. Ran into Lochend at the end, it was lovely to see her but she was exhausted after a really busy few days supporting the guild.

Wow! I am honored! Thank you, Alex and Ricky! And, to those of you who are not familiar with the Hoffman Challenge, this first place win for Renata and me, is a big deal. Some of the people who have won in this contest over the years, are people who have been on the TQS show with Ricky and Alex, some have books and do the teaching circuit, and others have won at big shows like Houston and Paducah. So, I am humbled!

                  Lottie, love the pictures!

Rosemary, thanks for sharing the "mini" quilt show! Your diamond quilt reminds me of argyle sox and vests from the 50s(?). My favorite quilt from the big ones you showed us, is the blue appliquéd one. Gorgeous!

                  Thanks again, to everyone!

Thank you Rosemary and Wendy for the eye candy!

Rosemary your quilt is amazing! What is it's size? Your miniature work is wonderful.

Rosemary and Wendy I like all the quilts, but my favorite is the thread quilt. It made me smile.

                    Thanks for sharing!

Geneva, my quilt is 6" x 9". I started by cutting 1" strips and making the pink and purple 4 patches, then started to make the blue and green 9 patches and then found I should have spent more time at the planning stage as I then either had masses of 'y seams' or 'undo it' stitch to do

Yes, thank you, Alex and Ricky and all our friends that span the TQS world who have congratulated Dawn and me for this recognition, both through the Forum and privately. This was the first time I had ever entered a quilt into a show so this award was a total surprise and certainly humbling!

I was equally ready for rejection knowing that I had learned so much from the experience of making Memories of Sardegna. Along the way, I realized that the competition was with no one but myself, which turned out to be the best part of the journey: exploring unconventional techniques (like boutis and basket-weaving stitches), making lots of samples, always hoping that the image in my mind would translate onto fabric. I did the very best I could, knew at the end what I could do to make this quilt better if I remade it (yes, the thought of remaking did cross my mind!), but most of all, I had fun!

I hope that any of you on the fence about entering a quilt into a show will give it a second thought. I am grateful to those, and you KNOW who you are, who encouraged me and even prodded me to try!
